You have to pay money for them to keep it. They say they pay it 2 weeks but its been 7 months by now. Never pay this nonsense to this hotel.

I booked this because of the high ratings on booking.com. It was a disappointment!!! Dirty room, like literally, hair on the bed sheet, a bug two nights in a row, glasses were dirty and smelly and you could hear your neighbors when walking in the hallway, I regretted every single minute of my staying there. The front desk staff is very friendly tho. Attached the pic of the bug!! 🤢

Location is the only thing that saved this place. You're right around the corner from Earl's Court Station, so it makes getting around the city very convenient. Now, for the rest of the story. It's on me, but I didn't check the policy on breakfast, I thought it was included. I went down on my last day and it was the only day I opted for breakfast (was here for three nights). I was accosted at the door by a very stern man asking me if I "have breakfast." Yes, I'd like to have breakfast. He made a phone call, and a few seconds later, it was like the Seinfeld episode (I don't know if I'm allowed to say the word in the review, but you'll probably understand what I mean), "No breakfast for you. Not included for you." They called after me once I was making my way down the corridor. I really wasn't in the mood because I was coming off of three horrible nights of sleep. The room was stuffy; I got some relief by cracking the window. The split fan was fine, but it blows directly down on the bed, therefore down on you. The bedding is a typical sheet duvet that has the warmth of a spring jacket. And the linens provide excellent skin exfoliation just in case you left your scrub at home. May I suggest adding some fabric softener into the laundry? Let me just say, the military tucks are a bit extreme; I had to pull out everything so I could adjust the duvet throughout the night. Brutal. It also turned out that my bed was a pullout sofa and the mattress springs didn't feel great on any part of my body. AND THE PILLOWS. What and why? What hotel furnishings outlet did these things come from? Why would you charge 250 quid each night and give pillows like this? The lumps cannot be smashed out, and the thickness is similar to a camping experience; you know when you bundle your clothes together to make a pillow? Actually, that is more comfortable than these pillows. I tried every scenario with them, and by day three, my neck is in terrible pain. My body is in so much pain from this sofa bed. They should work with local masseuses because I would definitely pay for one. This was the view from my window ... clean it up. If you want people to take you seriously as a hotel, clean this up. Get some real pillows. Don't use pullout sofa beds. I used the green tea in the room, it wasn't replaced; I must've exceeded my ration. The bathroom sink didn't drain, so I removed the hardware for the drain. The handheld nozzle in the shower is at a very strange height, eg, hits me waist level -- I'm 160cm -- and is about to come off the wall. The cleaning service didn't take out my trash, so I left everything in an M&S bag by the door, then they finally took it. There's been a strand of dental floss in the hallway for a day that no one has bothered to pick up. The heated floor in the bathroom is great, as is the movie theatre sized TV in the room. Reading the other reviews here, I am skeptical I will see my deposit returned. To note, my bath towel the other day had a huge stain on it -- I opted not to use it. Perhaps they have a practice of keeping the deposit, but not using it to improve the quality of the linens they provide. I do not understand anyone who gave this place more stars than what I've done here. There is nothing exceptional about this hotel other than proximity to the tube. You can easily find better quality for the same price around London. There are, wonderful Lebanese restaurants in the area. Highly suggest falafel in the neighbourhood. And thankfully there is an M&S across the street, quite literally my saving grace.

I don't really understand how the ratings can be so low right now. It's a very good hotel. Everything has been completely renovated, the staff were attentive, warm, and very pleasant. The breakfast was also very good and plentiful! The hotel is located in a really nice area, with the subway right next door. The only slight drawback was the security deposit; it would have been nice if this had been mentioned beforehand, and it's not really indicated on-site that the hotel is called the 'Oxford Hotel,' but apart from that, it's a great place. For a short stay of a few days, it wasn't too expensive.
