Birmingham's gay sauna scene is concentrated in and around the Gay Village in Ladywood — several venues within walking distance of each other, all operating in the heart of the city's LGBTQ+ neighbourhood around Hurst Street.
Spartacus Sauna
The best-rated sauna in Birmingham — sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, bar, dark rooms, and private cabins with regular themed events. Clean, well-managed, and consistently praised by visitors. Monday–Sunday, noon to 10pm.
Unit 2
In the heart of Birmingham's Gay Village — steam room, jacuzzi, dry sauna, large-screen cinema, dark rooms, and private cabins. Well-maintained and centrally located. Open 10am–10pm daily.
Greenhouse Sauna
On Hurst Street itself, the main Gay Village strip — themed nights, dark rooms, and glory holes. One of the more affordable options and stays open until 11pm on weekdays.
Sweat Sauna
In Digbeth — the most late-night option, open until 2am. Dark rooms, sling, themed events, and the longest hours of any venue in Birmingham. Good option for after the bars close.
The Gay Village Context
Hurst Street is the spine of Birmingham's gay area — bars and clubs like The Missing Bar, Nightingale Club (one of the UK's oldest gay clubs), and Sidewalk are all in the same area. Birmingham Pride in late May is a major event drawing crowds from across the Midlands.
