I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would gladly return in the future. One of the most fascinating aspects of the property is its history. The hotel was built on the site of an ancient Inca temple, and the staff do an excellent job of sharing that heritage with guests. The hotel offers several complimentary activities that were highlights of my stay, including a historical tour of the property, an Inca welcome ceremony with deep cultural significance, and a cocktail-making class. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, and the service throughout my stay was exceptional. I would especially like to thank JOEL, who went above and beyond when I experienced altitude sickness on my first night in Cusco. He brought me an oxygen tank, helped monitor my oxygen levels, and checked on me over the following days. His kindness and professionalism made a difficult situation much easier, and I am truly grateful for his help. If I had one criticism, it would be the room layout. We booked a standard room and were upgraded to a suite, which was appreciated. However, the suite appeared to be created by dividing a larger room into a separate living room and bedroom, which left the bedroom unusually small. As a result, the suite did not feel as spacious as expected. In addition, the hotel does not have built-in air conditioning or heating, and portable units must be requested when needed. That said, these were relatively minor issues compared with the overall experience. The history, cultural experiences, beautiful design, and outstanding hospitality made this a memorable stay, and I would be delighted to return on a future visit to Cusco.
Everything was as it should be.
We stayed here several nights after visiting Machu Picchu. The hotel is gorgeous. We missed the historical tour, unfortunately, but the historic nature of the hotel is obvious. The location is perfect - close to restaurants, shops, and historic sites. Breakfast was good, though getting seated at a table could take some patience. The rooms were tiny, especially compared to others we stayed at on our trip (similar costs). Our only problem, and it’s a doozy, is when someone from the hotel entered our room while I was having a bath. My husband had gone out and was expected back soon, so I had not put on the double lock (only the regular key lock). Maybe I should’ve waited for his return to have a bath or locked the bathroom, but honestly I wasn’t expecting a hotel employee to enter the room in the afternoon, at this class of hotel. Housekeeping had already been by. They were dropping off laundry from a nearby lavanderia. The laundry could’ve been delivered to the front desk. It didn’t not need to be delivered to our room. The employee left quickly and didn’t come into the bathroom. However, I was upset and felt vulnerable. The hotel management didn’t reach out after our travel agent’s complaint. I would hesitate before staying here again.
A fantastic hotel of great historical value, formerly an Inca palace and later a Spanish noble residence during the colonial period. Beautiful facilities and a spectacular historical and mystical show.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Palacio del Inka. The hotel is beautiful, and I thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the hotel and taking it in. The room was large and very comfortable. I loved having a window that I could open to look down at the street below. Staff were friendly and happy to help. The location was great, and it was within easy walking distance to some great sights. I would highly recommend staying here!
