Hotel El Plaza
Visitors frequently praise Hotel El Plaza's excellent central location in Lima's historic district, noting its proximity to attractions and the helpfulness of the staff. However, some guests find the rooms to be outdated for the price, citing issues like humidity and a lack of modern amenities such as cable TV or sufficient electrical outlets.

A well-located hotel, close to Plaza San Martín. I booked a room with a street view, where you can see Avenida Pierola from above and some diners from the other hotel across the street (Bolivar), at least in the evenings.
A complete dump, old and dilapidated furniture, a non-functional toilet with more rust than water, not recommended at all
I'm not giving it a zero rating because that's not an option. The only positive point: the kind service from the receptionist. Otherwise: the hotel is old and very damp, despite the modern exterior facade. The photos don't match reality. Towels and bed linens were old and stained, they actually looked dirty. Mold on the walls and sink. Breakfast... a disgrace: 2 rolls (old and hard) and 1 stick of butter. Zero protein. I had to go to a coffee shop to buy a decent breakfast. Now the worst part: noise from horns, explosions and shouting ALL NIGHT LONG, as the hotel seems to be in a bohemian area. It's simply impossible to sleep because there's no soundproofing. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this hotel, I wouldn't go back even if it were free.
There are not enough electrical outlets in the room; the rooms are very outdated for the price.
