Capital Pride es la celebración anual del orgullo LGBTQ+ de Ottawa y uno de los orgullos más importantes de Canadá, distinguido sobre todo por su escenario: la colina del Parlamento como telón de fondo, algo que ningún otro orgullo del mundo puede reivindicar. Cada agosto, Capital Pride reúne a unas 100.000 personas en el centro de Ottawa para una semana de eventos que culminan en el Pride Parade, que recorre las calles de la capital con el Centre Block y la Peace Tower visibles en el horizonte. La fecha en agosto diferencia a Capital Pride del grupo de junio de los grandes orgullos canadienses: la programación es deliberada, aprovechando el mes más cálido y soleado de Ottawa y permitiendo al evento sostenerse por sí mismo en lugar de competir con Toronto, Montreal o Vancouver. La semana del Capital Pride incluye el desfile, actos comunitarios, espectáculos en locales de Bank Street y de toda la ciudad, programación de derechos humanos y eventos bilingües que reflejan el carácter oficialmente bilingüe de Ottawa.
