Blake's on the Park has stood at the corner of 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue in Midtown for over three decades, watching Atlanta's gay scene shift around it while remaining unchanged in the ways that matter: great rooftop views of Piedmont Park, cold drinks, a friendly crowd, and the comfortable feeling of a bar that knows exactly what it is. The rooftop terrace — one of the best outdoor bar spaces in the city — overlooks the park and becomes extraordinary during Atlanta Pride weekend, when the festival fills the green below and Blake's is the essential meeting point. The main bar level operates as a classic neighbourhood gay bar: video screens, a diverse mix of regulars and first-timers, and staff who have been there long enough to know your order. The downstairs level hosts regular events, themed nights, and drag shows. For many Atlanta regulars and returning visitors, a stop at Blake's is not optional — it is the punctuation mark that starts or ends any Midtown evening. Its position on the 10th Street / Piedmont Avenue axis puts it within walking distance of the park and most of Midtown's other gay venues.
