Great for concert nights at the Greek Theater! Small room, decor a little tired. Had a small fridge and a tub shower in the bathroom.

LOCATION - 5 Stars - Great, especially if visiting UC Berkeley; next to restaurants and shops and steps away from the University STAFF - 2 Stars - There were only 2 or 3 young girls at the front desk that we met during our 3 day stay. All of them looked unhappy at their job and seemed a better fit at a Thrift Store. CLEANLINESS - 3 Stars - much to be desired, specifically in the bathroom. Let's just say I was not about to use the bathtub. Throughout the room and bathroom, it looked like a deep clean was much needed. RESTAURANT - 4 Stars - Nothing spectacular, my salad was not fresh, but prices were reasonable and the service was fast. OTHER - 3 Stars - There was a very strong smell in the lobby, which I could not say what it was - candle or something else. While the decor in the lobby was interesting and inviting, it seemed that students and random people could just come in, buy a coffee and sit there using their computers. The room was a good size (we had the corner Campenile view) however, it did not feel clean, there was no pen, not even a single piece of paper to write a note. The Front Desk lobby area did not have any interesting materials on the area, what to do or see and I was not about to ask the front desk ladies, they did not inspire much confidence. There was no concierge either. Overall good location, but not even a 4 Star hotel.

I really enjoyed the location and the shops proximity to downtown Berkeley and campus. The room was really clean, slightly dated but I presume that is part of the design. The reason I gave it three stars is the PAPER THIN WALLS. we had neighbors come in around 11:30 who were shouting and yelling until 12:00. We asked them to quiet down twice and nothing happened. I understand that this isn't really the hotels fault, but it was a really poor experience.

Nice stay, and staff was courteous and helpful. Cute hotel with a very boutique feel, especially if you have ties to UC Berkeley. Be aware that, while there is a coffee pot inside the rooms, there's nothing free like that, even a continental breakfast, in the lobby or at Henry's. Bathroom space is a bit tight but that's to be expected with a hotel that has a lot of history (used to be Durant Hotel).

Your hotel is dingy. Ratty American flag. Empty frontage. Back of property constantly trash strewn. Do better Hilton.

Overnight business trip in East bay. Kimmy and I enjoyed hotel. Older but well appointed. Highly recommend.

I had an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience at the Graduate Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. We arrived with a confirmed reservation and had already checked in through the app. Our company uses a virtual card for payment upon arrival, which is a standard and legitimate business travel practice. When we arrived at the front desk, we were told that nothing had been charged and that we were personally responsible for paying the full cost of the room. Instead of calmly explaining the situation or attempting to verify the corporate virtual card arrangement, the front desk agent, Ashely, immediately became confrontational. While we were trying to clarify the billing discrepancy, Ashely threatened to call the police on us. We were not being disruptive or refusing to cooperate — we were asking for clarification on a payment method that had been arranged by our company. Threatening guests with law enforcement over a billing misunderstanding is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. To make matters worse, Ashely then canceled our reservation on the spot and refused to provide a receipt or written confirmation showing that our reservation had been canceled. Canceling a confirmed booking without documentation and refusing to provide proof is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about professionalism and accountability. There was no effort to de-escalate the situation, offer solutions, involve management, or treat us with basic courtesy. The hostility and lack of customer service were shocking. This experience reflects very poorly on the hotel’s standards. Ashely’s conduct was unacceptable, and she should receive immediate retraining in professionalism, guest relations, and conflict resolution. Based on how we were treated, I would absolutely not recommend staying at this property.

My room was decent size. Location in walking distance to lots of restaurants catering to college students. The bathroom was bad shape and in need of repair. Water was trickling in the shower. No counter space and bad lighting. Henry’s restaurant had good food. Hotel had no other amenities such as room service, market or order ahead from restaurant. Would not stay here again.

Very close to Cal campus. Older hotel. Henry's tavern attached really cozy with good food, drinks and service. Been many times, but this was the best meals. The cafe which had been inside is now in Henry's. That was a great change with great food and more options. Yay!
