Rodeway Inn Cheyenne I-80 East

Stopped here late at night during a long road trip. Made the reservation through Expedia. When I came to the counter, there was nobody there. All the lights were off and the entire place smells horribly like cigarettes. (I realized too late that this was a smoking hotel). I picked up the little white phone to get someone to the counter and it just rang and rang. While I was standing there, some other guests came through the lobby and were yelling profanities at me and calling me names. The desk worker yelled from some other area that he would be up soon. I finally got checked in and I was just ready to sleep. I get to the room and there's dried pee all over the toilet and floor, everything is covered in a thick layer of dust, the sheets are burned and stained, the light bulbs are gone, and the TV doesn't work. Now I understand that you get what you pay for but I really stayed up half the night contemplating just getting back on the road. Horrible experience.

This is why I’m giving it five stars first of all no one asked me to do a review and I don’t write reviews on places if I don’t feel that it deserves it. I don’t write bad reviews, but I don’t write reviews on places that I don’t feel deserver review. Yes the price is very nice to have that type of price when you’re on a short budget or your budget is not 150 bucks a day at some extravaganza hotel now you get more than what you pay for there do not let the outside scare you from staying there would you get there is a family orientated place and everybody knows everybody so they know if you are, I don’t wanna say outsider but if you’re new around those parts and they see you get up every day and walk to the Kenworth dealer and walk back like it was really a wonderful experience that I would never forget especially a woman with four kids and the grandson to take care of and they were genuinely concerned for me like not that I’m a needy person. I don’t think I ever asked them for anything. I was probably the quiet person there it’s not a rowdy place if you ask a real question they give you a real answer so would that being said you can’t be nothing but grateful and the cleanliness is excellent so truckers travelers stay there don’t go and spend at these expensive hotels and it’s like a mom and pop hotel that take care and cater to not just truckers but also just travelers FYI don’t be rude and disrespectful to these people you messed it up for other people Thank you to the general manager, Sheryl thank you Miss Dawn and thank you Mr. Patrick for making my stay the best that I could’ve had in my time of need

A roach motel, cheep and off the highway. Don’t bring a clack light with you.

This is part of the Sapp Brothers complex on I 80. Room was clean and they allowed my cat to stay.

You definitely want to stay downstairs in the non smoking rooms, if you stay here. They’re nicer than the upstairs smoking rooms. I don’t smoke but they only had 1 room available - which was a smoking room. The ashtray wasn’t even dumped/cleaned. The sheets were dirty. There were no towels in the bathroom. It is quiet and the lady at the front desk is nice.

Thos budget hotel was convenient. The bed was nice and the water was hot. The smoke smell caused an asthma attack, even though we had a smoke free room.

Not to bad a value. The room was clean. I did not like that there was only one panel of curtains on the window but I was able to make it work. I know this is a budget motel so I don’t expect a 5 star room. A microwave would have been nice so I could have made my own coffee in the morning and you really should have 2 panels for the curtains. It just looks better and covers the window better. This place does look a lot better than the last time I stayed here. I think it must have new owners. The fridge was old but operable. The lamp by the beds was hard to turn on push the button hard. Room 101 was also spacious. Tv was a little small. But ended up not watching it anyway. The ac/heater is pretty old and the ac wasn’t real cold but with my fan I made it work. Read reviews of people being charged for towels so I hope that doesn’t happen to me because I’m definitely not a person to take what doesn’t belong to me. I did find it odd to only have 2 bath towels and one hand towel for a room with two beds but it did have two wash cloths. Bed seemed pretty comfortable but pillows were flat even though they were soft and comfortable I still brought my own pillow in. The lady that I talked to on the phone and checked me in was very hospitable helpful polite and professional. Wish I had got her name. Had no hassles about my service dog which was very much appreciated. The only thing is there isn’t much grass for potty time for him. The improvements done to this place is amazing but still needs a little more tlc. Kudos to the new owners. Keep up the good work updating. Also the glass over the front desk makes the place feel like it might not be safe on first impressions but I have never had any problems here and it is quiet on the normal. The lock on the door was a bit hard to get engaged. There didn’t seem to be a fan in the bathroom. The lamp shades seem to have seen better days. Probably abused by previous guests. Not sure if they have smoking rooms but when I went out of my room for a minute the cigarette smoke was very strong. Not good. Sets my asthma off. Please improve on that ventilation. All in all my stay was good. Will continue to stay here when I come to Cheyenne. Also the nice lady told me coffee would be ready at 6am and to no avail the guy at the desk said it wasn’t ready yet. And he seemed like I was bothering him by asking when it would be ready. Then when it was ready it was so strong it was almost undrinkable. I had to dilute it. At least there finally was coffee. Some of us are punctual people and I always have my coffee first thing. Couldn’t make my instant coffee because like I said there was no microwave. That guy started my morning off not so good. If he doesn’t like his job then he should find another one. Still Glad I gave this place a second chance. Just please figure out the cigarette smoke issue. Lost a star for that and the guy that was working the desk.

People were very nice rooms I been in were clean

Just drive a little further to something decent. I left belongings there and they won't even answer the phone to inquire.
