We were visiting the Chicago board of trade building and decided on lunch here. It is a hidden gem. The food was delicious and the service was great. The art deco atmosphere enhanced the whole experience. I highly recommend it for lunch.

I was passing thru to get to work and for breakfast you have to go to the basement inside the Board of Trade. The breakfast is the only thing I have eaten there. The Bobby Brown's are good! I also picked up hot coffee, and some parfaits.

I've been coming to Ceres for a few years with my big brother for his birthday and I enjoy being there every time. 😊

Nice manager, bad attitude from waiter. Did not introduce herself, just stated anxiously there were 10 orders ahead of us without giving a timeline on when our food could potentially be ready. There was just one table with 10 people ahead of us, otherwise the restaurant was empty at 9 am. Unclear whether this place is trying to have customers if it only takes two tables to get this decompensated. Recommend customer service retraining, as of now approaching this restaurant for breakfast is not a pleasant experience

Came here for breakfast and left prematurely due to the waitress’s bad attitude. It took about 10 minutes to be approached, and we were approached by the general manager, who was pleasant. However, the waitress did not greet us when she l approached us. She simply stated there 10 orders ahead of us, and that we should get comfortable waiting. There was one party of 10, but otherwise the restaurant was completely empty. When asked how long it would be, she got snippy and said she didn’t know and she just put in the orders. It took her 20 minutes to return to take our orders. I tried to order the pancake special and asked for blueberry pancakes, and said I’d be okay with a surcharge. She rolled her eyes, smacked her lips, and said “then it wouldn’t be a special then.” I was about to ask for a side order of blueberries, but before I could she said “apparently you’re not ready” and promptly left without waiting for my reply. At this point, I decided to leave because of her poor customer service and attitude. The waitress was an older white woman, with short blonde hair, and a heavy build. It’s a shame because I was looking forward to trying the food, but the hostility and lack of respect the waitress showed me left me feeling too uncomfortable to eat with a peace of mind or with trust that my food wouldn’t be tampered with.
