This review is for upcoming tournament starting in August 2026. As a regular luxury patron at major sporting events like US Open, my expectations for premium hospitality tiers are high. We spent $5,000 on tickets alone for 3.5 days of tennis to travel from Illinois and enjoy 1899 Club. While the Club is a fine place, the tournament’s third-party ticketing logistics are complete sham. A mandatory premium asset (South Lot VIP Parking) was withheld due to a Resale platform automated error, and the local box office chose to rely on bureaucratic policy scripts rather than manually resolving a high value patron’s missing amenities. We ultimately requested a refund for the unfulfilled session day. If you are traveling out of state expecting seamless Grand Slam level elite care, be warned that the administration here is not equipped or caring enough to handle premium service failures. I won’t pay top dollars for pedestrian level service, bureaucratic jargons, or poor treatment. You are free to make up your own mind.
Love this event. So glad it's in Mason. All the big players come through Mason, it's always a great time. Food options are good, beautiful venue, stadium upgrades are top notch.
If tennis is your jam, this is an event for you! There is top notch athletes competing here and we truly could tell right away! It is also just a nice facility. Plenty of matches to watch along with many food and drink options. This is definitely a bucket list tennis tournament that I’d highly recommend!
We have been to most of the major tennis events (US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros, Indian Wells), and this experience has spoiled us! MUCH more accessible tennis - we saw so much more high-quality tennis, and at such closer range, in one day, than you can ever get to at a larger event. Food selections were better (higher quality) than at US Open last year, AND they do a better job providing access for the handicapped. One gripe: the venue needs to install more and better water stations! In 88-degree heat, these are few and far between, and inefficient with long lines to refill your bottle. Guess they want to sell more $5.75 plastic bottles of water!
One of the most enjoyable and friendly professional tennis tournament. Staff members were all friendly and kind. It was easy to visit one court to another, picking up food and drink during the event. I have visited many professional tournaments in the world and in the US, and I am happy that I have explored this event for the first time this year.
Fourth visit to Cincy for some great tennis. Did not disappoint. Four days of all day tennis. One rainy late day but overall great. Outside courts allow great seating if you time thing’s right. Clean venue and tickets available online or at venue. Recommend venue since resale tickets have heavy fees attached unless you get a steal on the ticket price.
Wow, what a wonderful experience seeing so many top names in tennis. There are close up games and ones that are large courts.
Horribly planned. I bought my tickets for the day session in advance because the player I wanted to watch was scheduled then, and last minute they changed it to night session. When I called asking to exchange my tickets I was told that the only thing I could do was buy night tickets. I already spent $200 on tickets for a player I’m not even able to see and you want me to spend more money? That’s ridiculous. Plan events better. I won’t be back.
The Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati is one of my favorite annual activities and this year the fan experience was nothing short of exceptional. New wrap around video boards on the courts, the interactive fan zone, and floral arrangements were incredible. Of course hospitality and facilities are top notch. It would be a shame if the tournament were to move to the unbearable heat of the south.
Pros. - Well organized event. Get to watch top world class tennis players at a significantly lower cost than grand slams (like US Open). Lively atmosphere. Classy audience. - Smaller stadiums ensure great views even from the highest seats - Very friendly, helpful volunteers - Free parking (3-4 minute walk to venue). However, it's in a grassy area so could be messy if it rains - Free sunscreen dispensers - Water fountains available (no need to buy $$$ water) Cons - Extremely over priced food & drinks. - Long wait times for food - Service needs improvement. Faster checkout. More ready to go stuff - Do not allow outside foods (We know why!!) Bleachers can get very hot. Make sure to stay hydrated, get a wide brimmed hat, sunglasses, and apply plenty of sunscreen. Great event and well organized!!
