Sobre este lugar Sheraton Columbia Downtown Hotel

The Sheraton Columbia Downtown is a mainstream full-service hotel in a converted historic building at 1400 Main Street. It is listed here as gay-friendly, not a gay venue. The State House, the Columbia Museum of Art and Main Street's restaurants are within a few minutes' walk. The bars of the Vista are a bit further west. Columbia's Pride festival, Famously Hot South Carolina Pride, has been held downtown, so rooms on Main Street fill quickly that weekend. The hotel is rated 4.1 on Google from about 1,300 reviews. Parking is valet or a nearby garage, so allow for that if you are driving.

Good hotel otherwise, but what the hell happened with that crazy girl at the bar? She broke a bottle over someone’s head and started screaming at everyone. Was she fired? Absolutely ridiculous.

We were told to visit this rooftop while we were in town, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. Our salad was wilted, the fries were cold, and the service at the bar was not much better. Our bartender, Christina, was inattentive and seemed more focused on loudly talking with another employee about inappropriate topics than helping guests. The conversation was uncomfortable and extremely unprofessional to be having within earshot of customers. It’s a shame because the rooftop itself has a great atmosphere, but the food and service really took away from the experience.

Very disappointed in this hotel. We stayed at this hotel on two different occasions over a period of two weeks as our daughter attends to the University of South Carolina and we needed to be there for orientation and for her move-in. On our first stay, my daughter accidentally left behind her AirPods and didn’t realize till later in the day only to find that a staff member took them home. She tracked them on Find My iPhone, notified the front desk, who were not very helpful, and instead we called local police to go to the home and retrieve them. Unfortunately, that did not work out, but then the AirPods ended up traveling back to the hotel the next day and my daughter was alerted on her phone so we called the hotel and my husband had to demand to speak to a manager as my daughter was pinging the AirPods to get them from the staff member who stole them. They shipped them back to us and did return us our Marriott points as compensation, but the overall experience was crazy to say the least. We decided to use the points to give them one more try for our second stay for her move-in day. On this occasion, upon packing up to check out, I discovered bedbugs. My husband took the evidence to the front desk. They were not very helpful. Did nothing to help us with our bags. We had to go to Cvs and buy trash bags to bag our own stuff only to receive an email from their management that their “pest control”found no evidence of bedbugs in the room. Unbelievable. I spent days at home bagging, cleaning, and drying everything on high heat to prevent any issue within our own home. Needless to say, we will not be staying with them ever again.

I took my elderly mom overnight to the hotel to treat her to a night away from her normal life. The hotel was very loud, with little to no noise insulation. The rooms were very small, and could use some updating, as well as some cleaning, specifically their ceilings as there were black spots on ours. Parking was 33 dollars a day, and the metered parking only allowed for two hours at a time. The bright spot was the staff; they were all amazing, kind, and accommodating. I probably won't stay here again, for the price there are other hotels in the area that are nicer and have free parking.
