Residence Inn by Marriott Maui Wailea

Arguably the best 3-star hotel I have stayed at. Everything they do is next to perfection (considering the star rating). Spacious, clean rooms with a nice kitchen, a beautiful and well-maintained territory, and the staff were very nice and genuinely caring (big shout-out to the shuttle drivers!). Hotel breakfasts won't blow your mind, but you can find a few really nice cafes and restaurants within a 5-minute walking distance. I would return here anytime.

Wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, rooms were serviced every day, breakfasts were amazing, and the staff was always polite and helpful. The location is perfect, and the pool was beautiful. I would rate it no less than 4 stars.

Very bad experience. Our room was full of mosquitoes, especially at night. They were everywhere—on the ceiling, flying around the bedroom, living room, and even the bathroom. We spent the entire night trying to deal with them but nothing improved, and we couldn’t sleep at all. The mosquitoes were dark, constantly buzzing, and very disturbing. It was honestly quite uncomfortable and even a bit frightening. This clearly reflects poor hygiene and pest control. The hotel seriously needs to improve.

The rooms are spacious and clean and the free breakfast is great. Other than that, there are never pool/beach towels available, the gym is a dump, and only two out of 6 washing machines work. They advertise the basketball court, which is great, but they don’t have any basketballs available because people don’t turn them in when they’re done and they don’t keep track of who has them. We ended up buying our own. The pool and hot tub are FILTHY and packed and the hot tub broke while we were here. Basically, don’t stay here if you actually expect any of the amenities they advertise besides the free breakfast. Would NOT recommend.

Comfortable, clean accomodations, kitchettes are perfect to cook in, Grills available to BBQ, easy to get around the grounds, pool etc. Variety of games, BB,POOL TOYS ETC FOR KIDS.

Such a great place and the hotel staff was super friendly, I cant wait to stay there again soon!

Let’s be honest, if you come to Hawaii, especially Maui, and still find something to complain about, it might be time to pause and appreciate where you are. This place is incredible. Our stay at the Marriott has been great. The location is quiet but still close to everything we want to do. The service and amenities are exactly what you’d expect, and the atmosphere is a really nice mix of families, couples, solo travelers, and even people traveling with their dogs. There’s plenty to do, plenty to enjoy, and the whole experience has been relaxing and fun. Most of all, we’re grateful to the locals who make Maui such a special place for those of us visiting from the mainland. Mahalo for the hospitality and the care you put into making this island experience so memorable.

Location is about 1 mile from the beach, so about 4 minutes by car or 15 minutes walking.

I booked the Residence Hotel for a family trip. The pool and heated pool were great for a quick swim! The pool and heated pool are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the barbecue area is open until 9 p.m. One day, the wind was so strong that the engineer had to turn off the gas early and leave work, so we couldn't have a barbecue. If you want to use the barbecue area, I recommend starting before 8 p.m., before the engineer leaves work. This is a great place for families to stay and cook together! The complimentary breakfast offers a variety of breads, coffee, and fruit. Both regular and decaf coffee are available.
