Louisville Pride is the annual LGBTQ+ festival at the Belvedere — a riverside festival site on the Ohio River that provides one of the most dramatically situated Pride venues in the American South. The event draws approximately 30,000 people each October for a weekend of performances, community events, and the particular energy of a city asserting its progressive identity against the grain of a conservative state. The October timing makes Louisville Pride a late-season anchor in the national LGBTQ+ events calendar — one of the last major Pride festivals of the year, taking advantage of the Ohio River's beautiful autumn weather after the summer heat has broken.
