Lakeside Park — Lake Merritt

Get a sando from Ike's Place, roll over to WOB Hill and enjoy golden hour from the best park in Oakland.

Very nice and clean facilities, extremely friendly staff. They had live music while I was there, very impressive.

Beautiful view and nice view, a perfect place for jogging and exercising.

I visited Lakeside Park last week in case our family member needed to be moved to Memory Care. Of about 10 Memory Care facilities I visited, this was the sweetest, most spacious, most beautiful setting. They include frequent excursions outside of the facility to parks, concerts, ice cream, picnics, etc. They have little "neighborhoods" of 4-5 rooms around an individual living room. These neighborhoods all surround a community living room. So, there is a sense of cozy privacy as well as a larger community feeling. There is one Care Manager for each small neighborhood each day, so a ratio of about 1:4 or 1:5. The decor is happy, soothing, and fresh, in blues and whites. The spacious rooms have French doors, so a resident can have the bottom door closed for privacy and the top open for connection. Residents who enjoy gardens have access all day long to a beautifully planted courtyard. We haven't needed to move our family member from Assisted Living at this time, but I will recommend Lakeside Park to my family if and when it is needed. Currently, we have chosen a facility that is closer to the local family's house.
