South Mountain Park Trails

South Mountain is enormous — one of the largest municipal parks in the country — and its cruising is correspondingly spread out, centred on the trailheads off 19th Avenue south of Dobbins. Daytime into sunset.

Know before you go: the trails carry genuine hiker and jogger traffic, gay and straight alike — misreading someone here is easier than at a dedicated spot, so let signals be unambiguous. Standard Arizona public-indecency law applies, and summer heat is no joke on these slopes.
