The shifting sands and pools of water caused by the tides makes Herring Cove one of my favorite beaches to visit. Absolutely beautiful and always different.

My favorite bay side beach on the Cape. If you head left when you come in the entrance there's a large parking lot, changing rooms (very clean), flush bathrooms, and a lifeguard. The water here is incredible clear for bay side due to its unique position. The beach is spacious (the sand is like pebble sand here rather than fine sand). Update: one year later my reviews stands. There was no lifeguard this time. Also, the beach gets very narrow at high tide! Still one of the best national park beaches on the cape!

Herring Cove Beach is a beautiful spot that's easy to reach by either bike or car. It was a little more crowded than Race Point Beach, but still a great place to spend a few hours. The water was refreshing on a hot day, and we even spotted a few seals offshore. The tide comes in pretty quickly, so the beach gets much smaller as the day goes on. Overall, it's a great beach and definitely worth a visit while you're in Provincetown.

Gorgeous sunset! The noseeums are wild though - beware and bring bug spray.

If you are elderly or just have trouble walking in the sand or are pulling a beach buggy this beach is for you. Easy access mats very little walking in deep sand, I will be going back to this beach. It's a national park so if you have a park pass you can use it here. Don't sit on waters edge as the tide comes in you will be moving back to shore alot. This beach has bathrooms
