Casablanca Inn On The Bay

Boy! Has this place changed! The hubby and I visited and were greatly disappointed. It is filthy and it seems to be catering to the "bar crowd" more than the B&B crowd. The beautiful house has had so many iterations, it is difficult to see the beautiful place it use to be. It needs a GOOD cleaning and a drastic refurbishment. We will not be going back.

Hotel was dated and quarters are tight. Parking is free a couple blocks away but I didnt mind the short walk. Staff was VERY friendly and accommodating.

To get a voucher for the Martini's and breakfast you have to book directly though the hotel, no outside services. Check prices through them first before checking 3rd party booking.

Loved staying here for our anniversary! Very rustic and romantic. Martini bar below is added bonus. Loved the receptionist Gabriella! She went above and beyond for us when we needed anything. Only issue is the owners seriously need to fix the door jamming issues in this place. We paid a good price for the anniversary suitet and had to get maintenance to unjam our door to our private balcony. Owners...you make the $$$ so make some needed repairs. Your employees should not have to keep apologizing for things they have no control over.

I booked a deluxe king bed room with a balcony. What a disappointment!!! What they call a balcony is a walkway with piles of trash for a view. The lady and man at the front desk wanted to argue with me about the shitty balcony. They also tried to tell me that I didn’t book a room with a balcony because they supposedly don’t advertise balcony rooms on third party listings. Total BS! I included pictures of my reservation and of the horrible so called balcony. We will never stay here again. What a rip off!!! I forgot to mention that the employees at the front desk scoffed at my statement that I was planning on writing them a bad but honest review. She said my review won’t hurt them. I hope she is wrong. Don’t sell something to a customer and lie about what the product is. Don’t waste your time or money on this dump!

This hotel will punish you if you book through a third party. No breakfast vouchers. Plus, if you pay extra for a balcony view, you’ll get this terrible one, instead of a bay or alley view.

we stayed in Room 7; the room was in great condition, and the view from the balcony—which was right on the ocean—was amazing. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

Location: AWESOME! I parked and never moved my car til the day we left. Centrally located for an easy walk to wherever you want to go. Parking for guests is free so the fact you aren't paying a meter or lot daily is another selling point. As a guest we had priority seating for the bar and restaurant, which get very busy. Ask for Will as your server, he's fantastic. The room was lovely and comfortable. I slept like a baby. The balcony was perfect for relaxing and people watching.

The room was comfy and perfect for a couples weekend with jet tub and balcony. Breakfast was included as well as a complimentary martini. Wonderful martini bar. The location was easy to walk to local activities. I wish I had longer for my stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at Casablanca Inn In The Bay in St. Augustine. The rooms were perfect, the service was friendly, the breakfast was great, and you can’t beat the location for visiting historic St. Augustine. I say rooms (plural) because we actually got to stay in two rooms. We originally booked two nights, and liked it so much we extended a day. That did mean we had to move down one door, but it was no problem at all and we got to check out another room. This wouldn’t be notable at most hotels, but because each room is decorated individually it was a nice treat. I’ll include photos of both. I want to say a little bit about the rooms facing Charlotte Street because I didn’t see much about them in the reviews I read before our trip. Had it just been the two of us who probably would’ve wanted to stay in the main building. Since we were traveling with our little Havanese, the ground floor rooms facing Charlotte Street were perfect. If you have a doggie that likes to explore as much as you do, these rooms are perfect. Step right outside the gated patio outside your door and you are a steps away from many shops & restaurants, and right around the corner from St. George St. (See first attach photo in the review). Parking was not a problem at all. Don’t go to the front of the hotel, they have a pull-up place right behind it on Charlotte Street (Note at Charlotte Street is a one-way street, so have to be coming from the south). You can unload all your stuff into your room from there, and then drive around the corner to the reserved parking just for this hotel, where we never had a problem finding a space. Next time we’re in the area we will check here first. I see midweek rates that might be the sweet spot. Included breakfast right upfront along the bay is a nice bonus and very good. Again, if you have a dog, a ground floor room in the back is perfect!
