East Hotel

East Hotel is an independent hotel on Canberra Avenue in Kingston, the inner-south suburb by the Kingston Foreshore. Google describes colourful rooms, free loan bikes and Wi-Fi, and a casual restaurant, with a 4.6 rating from about 850 reviews. Kingston's bars and the Old Bus Depot Markets (Sundays) are walkable; Civic is about 10 minutes by car. The gay-owned Muse bookshop that used to be on the ground floor closed in 2024. It's a mainstream hotel, not a gay venue.
