Coral Beach Lodge

Excellent welcome. I booked a very comfortable double room with a shower and toilet, good bedding, air conditioning and a fan included, sheets, towels, TV, and a mini-fridge in the room. Very clean, with a small private terrace for breakfast. Pleasant common areas and pool. Attentive and very friendly staff. Reef cruise tours can be booked directly from the hotel, and bicycles are also available for rent at reception. I stayed here in January 2016.

What a little gem! As we booked late for NYE in Port Douglas , my expectations were not high but this place was fantastic! Walking distance to the Marina and a little further to town centre with undercover parking, pool, cafe and a myriad of activities. Room was spacious,clean and comfortable and the staff were super friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend!

No one at reception waited several hours to gain access

I recommend this hostel, but I'm giving it a low rating because of the owner's behavior. I told him I was broke and asked if he could give me a downstairs bed (otherwise I'd find somewhere else). He said yes, not to worry, and I double-checked before booking. There was a misunderstanding with the reservations, and when I arrived, the downstairs bed wasn't available. While I was trying to find a solution (at 9 PM), he told me, "If you don't like it, leave." Luckily, I found a way to resolve it myself. The owner wasn't friendly at all. On the other hand, the hostel is very nice. All the rooms have private bathrooms, which is very convenient. It's tidy, and the kitchens are fully equipped and clean. There are refrigerators and freezers.

Perfect location affordable rooms at the beach.

Very disappointed with my stay. I was woken up at 7am by construction noise (drilling, hammering) inside the hostel. When I raised the issue, no solution or gesture of goodwill was offered. Later, I asked for a private room and was told none were available, but I felt the real issue was that I wasn’t considered a “priority guest” because I’m a backpacker. The service and hospitality didn’t meet expectations. All guest should be treated equally.

Really dirty rooms

If you care about your hygene, avoid this place. My body was itching and I did not know why. Till we found the attached stains on the (i) bedding sheet and (ii) pilliow of distinct beds of the room. The stains are so worn out, I can say these are not washed for at least a week (so you are sleeping with the germ of at least two different persons). I called the owner, and instead of receiving an aplogy and remedying the situation, I was hung up on. Reserve if you want this experience in your holiday.
