מרקור נאגנו מצושירו ריזורט אנד ספא
Guests appreciate the hotel's reasonable pricing, convenient location near the interchange, and comfortable, spacious rooms with nice views. However, some visitors have been disappointed by outdated rules, such as restrictions on tattoos in the hot springs, and issues with reservation details not matching upon arrival.

Regarding the hotel's facilities, I have no particular comments. After all, I've used this hotel many times since it was built, so I feel I know it well. Firstly, this time, I was a little disappointed because the details of my reservation were different upon arrival. I booked through the app, and although it was listed as all-inclusive, it was treated as a room-only stay. I admit that my failure to check thoroughly was partly to blame, but I was very disappointed. Next, regarding the restaurant, I added breakfast just once, since I was there. To put it simply, despite the time slots being set, when I arrived there was a huge number of people (a tour group), and all that was left was a buffet that had been ravaged by everyone (sigh). The staff were working hard to replenish, but it didn't seem like they were able to keep up at all. The lounge had moved to a different location, using a large tatami room, and the sofas there were very nice. Also, because the hot spring facility was under construction, there were no time restrictions on use, and I was able to use it all the time, which was very much appreciated. The staff here were incredibly hospitable, with lovely smiles and a very pleasant experience. The lobby on the first floor was extremely crowded during the morning check-out time, making it difficult to use. Why does this hotel only accept these kinds of group tours? I noticed a particularly large number of foreigners… I thought Mercure was a higher-status hotel… I don't think it's the kind of hotel that should be accepting bus tour groups. Upon arrival, they seemed to be handing out boxes of sweets. What kind of gift was that? I don't particularly want one, but is it something only for bus tour groups? I hope that in the future, the hotel will be filled with wonderful staff to live up to the Mercure brand. I think hotels are now in an era where they have to choose their customers, so I look forward to their future prosperity.
I stayed at this hotel. On my first day, when I went to the hot springs, I was asked to leave the bathing area because I have tattoos. I was told there was a rule that "people with tattoos are not allowed to bathe," but I was extremely disappointed that such an outdated rule still exists in 2026. After that, I respected the hotel's rules and avoided using the hot springs. However, a few days later, when I tried to use the coin laundry, I was stopped again. This is because the entrance to the laundry and the bathing area are in the same place. I was only allowed in after explaining that I was just going to do laundry. I felt very uncomfortable being treated as if having tattoos itself was a bad thing. Despite paying the same accommodation fee, I did not receive the same service as other guests. Furthermore, I felt I was being discriminated against. It is extremely disappointing that such treatment continues in an international tourist destination. I do not believe this is the level of service expected from a four-star hotel.
This hotel used to be the Daiwa Royal Hotel. It's now operated by the renowned European Accor Group. It's reasonably priced at 15,000 yen for two people, including a breakfast buffet. I made a reservation the day before. It's conveniently located near the Matsushiro Interchange, making it easy to access tourist attractions in Nagano Prefecture. The parking lot is also spacious. There are many inbound tour groups, and since there are only three elevators after check-in, you might not be able to get on no matter how long you wait. You can't access your room floor from the first floor via the emergency stairs, so be patient. This is a weak point of large accommodation facilities. The assigned room was a comfortable 35 square meters. We immediately went to the Japanese-style lounge and relaxed, seeing everyone enjoying themselves. The baths happened to be on a men's/women's alternating schedule, and I felt there were many inbound tourists, so I took a shower in my room before morning. We had a reservation for the breakfast buffet at 8:00 AM, but the main dining area was full, so we were directed to a slightly more distant area. We agreed to try for 7:00 AM next time. It was nice to be able to eat in peace, but the walks were a bit long. Overall, considering the cost-performance ratio, I think it's an excellent place to stay. Since it's part of the French Accor group, I suppose the tour groups are from Europe.
