על המקום הזה Ashura Bar 新宿店

Ashura Bar is listed as a gay bar in room 402 of Nakae Building III, Shinjuku 2-15-13, in Ni-chome, Tokyo's main gay district. The "新宿店" in the name means this is the Shinjuku branch. We have little else confirmed: no hours, no website and only about 30 Google reviews, which average 4.0. Most Ni-chome bars are small rooms with a counter and a master who sets the tone, and some bars only want Japanese speakers or a particular crowd. Check the bar's social media or ask locally before you go. Expect a cover or table charge.

I went for the first time. I liked the atmosphere at the Ueno branch, so I decided to try the Shinjuku branch as well. The staff were great conversationalists, and the atmosphere was relaxed, making it easy to talk even though it was our first meeting. Two hours flew by! I'll definitely go again.
