New Sazae

New Sazae has been pouring since 1966, which makes it the oldest surviving night haunt in Shinjuku Ni-chōme and one of the oldest queer venues in Asia — sixty years in 2026. Weekend nights only, 10pm to 6am, 60s–80s soul and disco, ¥1,000 entry with a drink, cash only, and a gloriously mixed crowd of gay veterans, drag, strays and the merely curious.
