Everything is premium, especially the view from the 24th floor when dining is superb.
Breakfast meeting at Okura Hotel Bangkok. The breakfast buffet is absolutely amazing, and would put many international hotel Sunday Brunch offers to shame.
Great rooftop bar with good views and amazing specialty cocktails. Very quiet retreat near Central Embassy.
The Okura Prestige hotel has many genuine strengths. Executive Chef Sebastiaan Hoogewerf is not one of them. He accomplished what no competitor could — he sent me directly across the street to the Lakorn. There is a meaningful difference between seniority and superiority. Chef Hoogewerf has not yet found it. His unsolicited instruction to “cut some slack” toward a perfectly polite trainee was less mentorship, more a quiet attempt to establish dominance over the wrong person in the room. That particular privilege belongs to one person in my life — my wife — and she has earned it. It was not available to a stranger behind a pass. A senior chef who looked, frankly, as though the kitchen had already won — soiled, no name badge — and yet saw fit to correct guests on their patience has quietly communicated everything about how he views the relationship between kitchen and guest. The standards he applies to himself appear considerably more forgiving than those he extends to others. He has it inverted. The Okura Prestige itself I would recommend without hesitation. The front-of-house team is warm, genuine, and professional — a clear reflection of Aurairat Atipihai’s leadership. Chef Hoogewerf is clearly most at home in the kitchen — and, for everyone’s benefit, should stay there.
It's located on the 24th floor of the Okura Hotel. It also serves as the breakfast venue. There's also a terrace seating area. The view from the terrace was absolutely lovely! The night view is even more spectacular! They also have Japanese food, including miso soup and takoyaki.
