The staff were all kind and attentive, making me feel completely at ease! Breakfast was prepared quickly and tasted delicious. You might even meet fellow travelers at breakfast! The room was well air-conditioned, which was fantastic in the hot Bangkok weather! I received a small gift at checkout, which warmed my heart right to the very end! I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Bangkok!

We walked around the quarter and discovered this hidden gem. The place is very homey and welcoming with nice people and a caring host who showed us the beautiful and cozy rooms and told us stories of the family and the house. We had a very good lunch with authentic Thai traditional dishes. We will definitely come back.

The room was small and compact, located on the first floor next to the kitchen on the basement floor. I booked a room with a window and requested a good view, but it wasn't as requested. Opening the window revealed a partition. (I read reviews where many people disliked the noise from walking or other activities, but I didn't have this problem at all. I guess the second floor was unoccupied, and the air conditioning, which wasn't noisy, drowned out those sounds.) There was a TV, good lighting, a writing desk, and a shared bathroom. It cost 700 baht per night (using TripCoins), including breakfast, which was Thai food. Guests staying in the room could purchase a set of Khao Chae (rice in chilled broth) for 250 baht instead of 450 baht. The Khao Chae broth wasn't fragrant and wasn't infused with the traditional Thai smoked candle flavor. The shrimp paste balls weren't tasty compared to others I've had; these were like eating pure sugar. I tried to finish it, but I really couldn't stand it. (I never waste food; my parents taught me to always finish everything, out of pity for those who don't have food. The owner saw from the CCTV footage around 2:50 PM on April 27, 2026, that I had to throw away the food.) Because of the hot weather, I asked permission from the staff to bring out some fish cakes. I ate the mung bean sprouts in my air-conditioned room. Breakfast on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, was as pictured, not the set meal of rice and green curry as mentioned in the reviews. I informed the staff that I wasn't full, but they were indifferent – typical of this type of accommodation. Both the owner and staff are lovely and attentive to guests (one person seemed to have difficulty understanding Thai, judging by their accent; they weren't Thai). Directions to Baan Khajitphan from Democracy Monument: Take the road towards Bangkok City Hall. Get off at the bus stop with that name, which is in front of a 7-Eleven. Cross the road and walk about 150 meters into Soi Silp. Baan Khajitphan Hotel (named after a pharmacist who graduated from Chulalongkorn University and is currently 98 years old) is on the right, at the second intersection. At the end of Soi Silp, turn left and cross the small canal; this is the area of Wat Mahannaparam. It's large, clean, and peaceful. You can pay respects to the Golden Phra Ruang, one of the eight golden Buddha statues in Bangkok, brought from Sukhothai during the reign of King Rama III. Exiting the temple gate and turning right, you'll find a small stall selling homemade steamed dumplings and Vietnamese food. If you exit the other temple gate, there's a delicious Hainanese chicken rice stall. The person who recommended the restaurant couldn't remember the name, but it was called "Koh Lun Hainanese Rice Noodles" or "Nai Oun Yen Ta Fo".

Absolutely loved my stay at Baan Kachitpan. I have felt so welcome, safe and cared for. The breakfasts are awesome, room is cute, air conditioner is strong and quiet, and shared facilities are more than adequate. When I come back to Bangkok, I’ll be staying here.

Here's a review of the food: I ordered the Khao Chae set for my boyfriend, which included various savory and sweet appetizers. I don't eat Khao Chae myself because I don't like shrimp paste, so I ordered the appetizers instead. Watermelon with dried fish - Pure dried fish, no added sugar, unlike other places I've tried. Fish-filled dumplings - Soft and delicate. Fried spring rolls - Delicious as expected. Mung bean dumplings - This is a common dessert, but I was surprised by how fragrant it was. Exciting! This is what delicate and refined Thai cuisine is like. Thank you for continuing to meticulously prepare Thai food so that future generations can learn the subtlety of Thai art.
