What reviewers say

Visitors praise the friendly staff, good cocktails, and great late-night atmosphere with a pleasant lounge and terrace. However, some reviewers report very unpleasant service, rude security, and a perceived shift away from the bar's original ethnic diversity.

על המקום הזה בר אתני

Ethnic Bar is a mainstream bar at Avenue Louise 277, at the Ixelles end of one of Brussels' main shopping avenues. We list it as gay-friendly, not as a gay venue. It holds 4.3 stars from about 350 Google reviews, but there is no website and no published opening hours in our data, so call ahead (0487 60 63 00) before making a special trip. For the city's actual gay bars, head to the Rue du Marché au Charbon and Rue des Pierres area near the Grand Place, about 15 minutes away by tram.

Absolutely terrible, doesn't deserve one star, and the woman who served was very unpleasant.

Great lounge bar. The bartender is very friendly, always busy and hardworking. This bar has an excellent late-night atmosphere. Even the terrace is very pleasant in the summer. African ambiance.
