HUNGR

HUNGR calls itself a local queer space open to everyone and their mum, and that line captures the place better than any category label. It is a small DIY bar and event space at Peetri 6 in the Noblessner quarter of Kalamaja, a former industrial harbour area northwest of the Old Town that has turned into one of Tallinn's most interesting creative districts. The programming is what sets HUNGR apart from the Old Town bars. Nights range from drag shows and voguing to DJ sets, karaoke and community fundraisers, with both Estonian and international performers passing through. The crowd skews young, queer and alternative, and the venue is explicit about being a safe haven for Tallinn's queer community rather than a polished commercial club. The space itself is intentionally rough around the edges: hand-built interiors, cheap drinks by Nordic standards, and an outdoor terrace that fills up on summer evenings. It operates around its event calendar rather than fixed daily hours, so check the Facebook or Instagram schedule before heading over. Together with X-Baar and HELLo! Bar in the Old Town, HUNGR forms the third point of Tallinn's small but real queer nightlife triangle — and it is the one where you are most likely to catch the city's young queer scene on any given weekend.
