Berlin's sauna options centre heavily on the Schöneberg and Mitte districts — the established gay areas of the city. Key venues:

KitKatClub Sauna Sessions

More sex-club than traditional sauna, but KitKatClub (Köpenicker Str. 76, Mitte) runs sauna and spa sessions alongside its infamous party nights. The CarneBall Bizarre and Warm-Up events have their own steam room and wellness area — a very Berlin approach to mixing spaces.

Station (Checkpoint)

One of Berlin's best-known gay saunas in Schöneberg — sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, dark rooms, private cabins, and a bar. The Schöneberg area (around Motzstraße and Fuggerstraße) is the historic gay neighbourhood and there are several venues within walking distance of each other.

Apollo Sauna

Long-running venue in Schöneberg, popular with the leather and bear crowd. Multi-level facility with steam room, sauna, dark areas, and a bar. Themed nights throughout the week including bear afternoons and underwear events. The crowd is mostly 30–55, regulars and visitors mixed.

Tom's Bar Downstairs

Not strictly a sauna — Tom's Bar (Motzstraße 19) is a legendary leather bar with a cruising area below. One of the oldest gay leather bars in Berlin, open since 1983, and a required stop on any Berlin leather trip. Dark areas, jock/leather crowd, later hours (from 10pm).

The Berlin Gay Scene Beyond Saunas

Berlin's LGBTQ+ scene extends far beyond saunas:

• Berghain/Panorama Bar — the world-famous techno club with a predominantly gay men's space. Arriving Thursday or Friday gives better entry odds than peak Saturday
• Folsom Europe — September; Berlin's leather festival, one of the biggest in Europe
• Christopher Street Day (Berlin Pride) — July; large march through central Berlin
• Easter in Berlin — a traditional gay travel weekend; the city fills up considerably
