The food and atmosphere is excellent. Their wine offers are probably great too, but this was an evening, where good beer was chosen. The owner and the chef were indeed very knowledgeable about what they served. They made us feel at home immediately. Honesty, kindness, quality are keywords in this small restaurant. No fakes. Nothing is pretentious here. It's not a Michelin starstruck restaurant. It's 'just' well known ingredients composed with a twist. At indeed decent prices. In fact quite a lot cheaper than where we live (: Copenhagen).
There were four of us at Wagners, as we had followed recommendations praising the excellent food and, above all, the great service. Even the phone call to make the reservation confirmed our initial positive impression. Throughout the evening, we were completely delighted with the dishes. Wonderful, delicious combinations that truly surprised our taste buds. Highly recommended!
Yesterday, the four of us visited the restaurant for the first time and were very pleasantly surprised. Both the service and the food were top-notch, and despite, or perhaps because of, the "small" menu, the dishes were imaginative and off the beaten track. While there are only a very limited number of seats (which is explicitly mentioned on the website) and it's a bit cramped in the historic building, this didn't detract from the cozy atmosphere at all. The very friendly staff and the other guests made it easy for everyone. All in all, a real hidden gem in the heart of Leipzig's city center. We'll definitely be back! This little restaurant in the courtyard is highly recommended. The food was excellent, and we'll definitely go back when we're in Leipzig again!
Great food and incredibly friendly service – with beautiful Polish :) I highly recommend visiting while in Leipzig.
Since space is limited, it has a very intimate atmosphere. The food and the recommended wines were delicious. Highly recommended. A hidden gem.
