Excellent hotel

Stayed this hotel for a short trip. The location is brilliant with free car park. The restaurant quality is very very good. Staffs are always friendly and supportive. Highly recommend the hotel.

It's only 6 minutes from Dexcom Stadium

Worked out well for a stay in Galway. 15 min walk to Latin quarter. Cool path through the park is a it of a shortcut.

The "4 star reviews" must be from hotel employees. Certainly not from guests who have reasonable standards... An honest review is 2.5 stars max. WAY overpriced for what you get. Horrible value. Old hotel. Old, dark, rooms. No USB ports. Thin walls allow noise to become a factor. Beds "spongy" and unstable edges. Shampoo container/pump is broken. Went to front desk to ask for new one, they said they'd bring it up to the room. Of course, they never did. The bathroom has no shelf/counter space to put personal items on. You have to shlep everything back and forth from the room to the bathroom. However, the shower stall was the best one we used in Ireland so far! Sliding glass door prevents water from spilling on to the ground. Shower head fully adjustable. Thermostat on wall, however, there is NO outlet (vent) to blow out the air?! No air conditioning?! Can NOT open the window for fresh/cool air either. With no air conditioner, it must be sweltering in the summer. Just found a 1970's radiator attached to the lower wall for heat. Not very effective. Hey Nox hotel, welcome to the 21st century... WiFi was the second slowest one we have encountered in Ireland. 13.5 to 38 Mbps download (unreliable strength), a horrible 5.8 Mbps upload. In addition, the WiFi at times would cut out... The WiFi was ok to stream, however, trying to send an image via text failed time and again. Unfortunately, this is the second worst hotel for us thus far in Ireland. This review, and the other honest reviews basically complained about the exact same concerns. That tells you the total disregard of hotel management concerning their guests. Hotel staff doesn't even have the guts to respond to any reviews. Clearly, Nox management has no pride in their hotel, apparently.

Hotel located far from the city center, near a highway. Only one elevator for housekeeping and guests. Mediocre breakfast. Our room was located directly opposite the elevator, on the highway side, with a view and noise from the boiler room. The bathroom faucet is so poorly designed that when you turn it on, it sprays water outside the sink... In short, a nightmare. The only positive point is the free parking. I strongly advise against staying here.
