Universit\u00e0 di Bari area (cruising)

The area around the University of Bari (Universita degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro), in the central Murat grid, is noted in Italian gay guides as an informal cruising (battuage) zone, busiest in the evening around the faculty buildings. As with any public cruising area in Italy, discretion is expected: this is unofficial and tolerated rather than organised, so keep to well-frequented spots, watch your belongings and be aware of your surroundings. Its central location makes it easy to reach on foot from the station and the main shopping streets.
