The Londoner Hotel St. Julian's
Visitors frequently praise the hotel's cleanliness, good breakfast, and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. While many found the rooms to be clean, spacious, and well-equipped, one reviewer noted it felt more like a 4-star than the advertised 3-star.

The hotel is beautiful, very modern, and the rooms are spacious (be sure to book a room with a balcony!). The location is ideal for those who love to party, as Paceville is less than a 5-minute walk away. If you're not into partying, try to get a room on a higher floor, as it's noisy outside (bring earplugs, otherwise it's difficult to sleep). The swimming pool is in another hotel, just a short walk from this one! Breakfast was rather small, but honestly very good, and more than enough for us. My 4/5 rating is solely due to the noise outside, which makes it difficult to sleep when you want to. I recommend it 100%!
AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!! Absolutely terrible experience. I booked this hotel for three nights but fled after just one. They charge 5-star prices for a below-average budget motel experience. Do not let their misleading photos ruin your holiday! Here is what you can actually expect if you stay here: The Entrance & Vibe: The tiny entrance immediately hits you with a strong smell of weed. There isn't even a proper ground-floor lobby; you have to go up to the 1st floor just to find the reception desk. Disgusting Rooms: The ceiling in our room was covered in an unidentified mold-like substance, and the decor is made of cheap plastic panels that make it feel like an unfinished construction site. Zero Amenities: No slippers provided anywhere. The bathroom only has a cheap 3-in-1 dispenser for hair, body, and hands. When I called reception to ask for a toothbrush and toothpaste, they told me to "check the drawer in the bathroom"—the bathroom literally did not even have a drawer! Horrendous Breakfast: The breakfast area is incredibly small with barely any options. To make matters worse, they literally served rotting cantaloupe as "fresh fruit" in the morning. Deafening Noise: The hotel is located right next to a cluster of bars. It is insanely loud at night, making it impossible to get any sleep. False Advertising: They advertise features like a "rooftop pool" and "beach." There is no beach. The pool they claim is actually a heavily crowded public swimming pool two buildings away, and you have to walk past a dusty construction site just to get there. It is not private or exclusive to the hotel. When we pointed out these massive issues, the staff's only excuse was, "We are just a 3-star budget hotel." If that is the case, they shouldn't be charging luxury prices. Even worse, the manager refused to take any responsibility and aggressively refused to refund our remaining two unstayed nights when we checked out early. Save your money, save your vacation, and book literally anywhere else.
Extremely disappointing experience. We booked this hotel for three nights based on the photos and descriptions presented online. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. The first thing we noticed upon arrival was an unpleasant smell throughout the property. The breakfast area was small and offered a very limited selection. The room itself was in poor condition, with stains and marks on the ceiling, low-quality furnishings, and very basic amenities. No slippers were provided, and the bathroom only offered a single all-in-one product for shampoo, body wash, and hand soap!?!!!???? When we asked about missing amenities such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, we were repeatedly told that this was a “budget hotel” and that guests should not expect more. However, the room rate was comparable to many four-star hotels and even some five-star hotels in Malta, making the overall value for money extremely poor. What disappointed us most was the gap between the advertised facilities and the actual experience. The property promotes a rooftop pool and beach access, but the pool is a public facility open to everyone and was extremely crowded. The surrounding area was also noisy, with bars nearby and construction work taking place next to the hotel. Because of these issues, we checked out after only one night despite having booked three nights. We spent a significant amount of our holiday trying to resolve the matter with the hotel’s management team. Unfortunately, problems were repeatedly dismissed, responsibility was shifted elsewhere, and no meaningful solution or compensation was offered. What disappointed me most was not only the condition of the hotel itself, but also the attitude of the management. If you encounter any issues during your stay, do not expect meaningful support. Guests deserve accurate information and a level of service that reflects the price being charged. Based on our experience, the property did not match its advertised presentation, and the management team’s handling of customer concerns was equally disappointing. Considering the price charged, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in Malta. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it to other travellers.
★☆☆☆☆ Extremely Disappointing Experience – Misleading Advertising and Poor Customer Service I booked a 3-night stay at this hotel but decided to leave after just one night due to a number of serious issues. I am sharing my experience so that future travelers can make a more informed decision. First, the hotel did not match the impression created by its online photos and descriptions. The entrance is very small, and there is no traditional lobby on the ground floor. Guests must go upstairs to reach the reception desk. The breakfast area is also much smaller than expected, with a limited selection of food. During our stay, we noticed fruit that appeared to be in poor condition being served at breakfast. The room itself was disappointing. The overall condition felt outdated and significantly below what was shown in the promotional photos. There were visible stains and mold-like marks on the ceiling, and the finish and furnishings gave a much lower-quality impression than expected. Some basic amenities were not provided in the room and had to be requested from reception. The surrounding environment was another major issue. The hotel is located among numerous bars and nightlife venues, making the area very noisy at night. Guests who are sensitive to noise should be aware of this. In addition, there was a strong smell resembling cannabis near the hotel entrance during our stay. Perhaps the most misleading aspect was the way certain facilities were advertised. The booking platform highlighted features such as a “rooftop pool” and “public beach.” After making inquiries, we discovered that the nearby swimming pool is a public facility open to everyone and not an exclusive hotel amenity. The surrounding area also does not resemble the beach environment presented in the promotional materials. These descriptions created expectations that were not met in reality. Because the actual experience was far below what had been advertised, we checked out the next morning after staying only one night and requested a refund for the remaining two unused nights. Unfortunately, the handling of our complaint was even more disappointing than the stay itself. The hotel claimed that some of the promotional information came from the booking platform, while the platform stated that any refund required approval from the hotel. We repeatedly visited the hotel, spoke with reception staff and management, and followed up by email. Our calls were not answered, our emails went unanswered, and the issue was effectively ignored. What made the situation even more frustrating was that after our early check-out, the room was released back into inventory and made available for resale for the remaining two nights. Despite this, the hotel still refused to refund any portion of the unused accommodation charges. From a customer’s perspective, it is difficult to understand why guests should be charged in full for nights they did not stay while the hotel retained the opportunity to sell the room again. The most disappointing part of this experience was not simply the condition of the hotel, but the significant gap between the advertised information and reality, combined with the lack of accountability when concerns were raised. I strongly encourage future travelers to carefully review photos and comments across multiple platforms before booking. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel.
I recently stayed at The Londoner Hotel in St. Julian's, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Excellent Stay in a Modern, Centrally Located Hotel! The Londoner Hotel in St. Julian's features a striking, modern high-rise exterior with sleek accent lighting located in a vibrant area near landmarks like FIMBank and Mercury Towers. Inside, the welcoming lobby boasts high ceilings, contemporary light fixtures, and chic branding. The guest rooms embrace an industrial-modern aesthetic with exposed concrete ceilings, dark tiled floors, and London-themed decor, offering functional storage, a digital safe, and comfortable bedding. Additionally, the stylish bathroom is equipped with marble-patterned tiles, a modern vessel sink, a large mirror, and a spacious walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead. Also the breakfast table is perfect with all Ingredients you need.
