Golden Bay

Malta's favourite sandy bay is also its most gay-popular beach day: Golden Bay's wide sand, sunset orientation and easy facilities make it the default seaside outing for the island's LGBTQ crowd and visitors - Malta has no officially gay beach, and this is where everyone actually goes. Practical: buses run from Valletta and Sliema (about an hour); full services, loungers and cafes on the sand. For more seclusion, the neighbouring Għajn Tuffieħa bay - a ten-minute clifftop walk - is quieter and draws a mixed naturist-leaning crowd.
