Stensparken (Cruising)

Stensparken, in the Fagerborg / St. Hanshaugen area just north-west of the centre, is a historic gay cruising ground. The park is home to the Kjaerlighetskarusellen (the "Love Carousel"), a 1937 public urinal that served as a clandestine gay meeting place and is today a protected cultural-heritage monument. As with cruising spots everywhere, activity has fallen sharply in the app era, but the park keeps its place in Oslo's queer history. Any activity is discreet and most common after dark; Norwegian public-decency laws apply.
