Located close to the Bislett Stadium this park has become home to a number of bird species. This area has a fascinating history with the site previously being a farm, match factory, a cemetery and a waste site.
In an elevated position it is a grand space of sylvan relaxation within close to 50 acres. Grand pathways amongst the flora are for pleasant strolls. A fine sculptural portrayal of the writer Sigrid Undset is a notable landmark. She was the 1928 Nobel Laureate for Literature and lived at various addresses nearby. Unveiled in 1991 the sculpture was created by the Norwegian artist Kjersti Wexelsen Goksøyr. Named after a farm, Steinn, further north the park was completed in the 1930s.
A very good option if you are planning a day in the park, the stone park is an excellent option! It is always neat and tidy, and not too many people either 😄
