Hostel Celica

Very cool hostel. It has a pretty good location, near the bus station, and not that far from old town/ touristy signs. There are also signs around Ljubljana on how to get there, which makes it even easier. It is in a former prison, so the building looks cool and the rooms are quite clean. The biggest downsides are that the rooms are small (makes sense since it was a former prison) and the vibe is not that social. That being said, there is a good common space and a free breakfast where you can meet people

Super hostel! Very convenient to the bus station and the historic city center! Rich and quality buffet breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy rooms, gorgeous common areas, especially the bar garden with hammocks!

The location is excellent, only 700 meters from the central bus station (10-minute walk) and 800 meters from the Old Town. There's a Lidl supermarket nearby. Convenient access to everything. The design is very beautiful and stylish, with a lovely seating area at the bar on the ground floor. The outdoor area is also beautiful. Breakfast is delicious. The entire building is very clean, with a small kitchenette on the 3rd floor (fully equipped with cooking utensils and spices, however, the cooking area is very small, only enough for one person to stand and cook). Free lockers are available. Free washer and dryer are provided. The dormitory has 10 beds and 2 en-suite bathrooms (no shampoo or body wash provided). Rooms are air-conditioned. There are lights and multiple power outlets at each bed. The reception is 24 hours long, and guests can store their luggage for free in a lockable room near the reception desk. Overall, everything is good, the only drawback being the lack of an elevator (climbing to the 3rd floor with heavy luggage would be tiring). Furthermore, in the dormitory room, the beds are placed too close together, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Additionally, it would be even better if the hotel added more napkins in the kitchen area and removed the two trash cans from the cabinet (they smelled very bad because they were inside a closed cabinet).

Excellent hostel, 100% recommended. Very comfortable rooms, hostel with plenty of facilities, and an exceptional breakfast.

It was close to the station, and the staff were friendly. The room wasn't spacious, but it was fine for a short stay. The breakfast was basic, but maintained good quality. They refilled the food immediately whenever it ran out. If I visit Ljubljana again, I would like to stay here again.

​I highly recommend this cultural heritage building turned hotel in the city center! The room design is full of creativity and clever details, perfectly embodying the city's vibrant energy for design. ​We stayed here for one night, and on our last day in the city, they even let us store our luggage for free until 2:00 AM (we were taking a night bus that day and couldn't find any other luggage storage). ​If I ever visit this city again, I will definitely choose to stay here. With its friendly staff, eco-friendly practices, affordable prices, and unbeatable location, it is absolutely an essential transit hotel for this city!
