Had breakfast with daughter on a work visit to Sweden. Good breakfast, but a bit weak coffee (which is probably a matter of taste)

Very central Not ideal if you're driving
Villa Dagmar is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The reception team was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Check-in was lovely, and although my room wasn’t ready yet, they even tried to fast-track it for me, which I really appreciated. The hotel itself is stylish and charming, and the outdoor restaurant area is particularly cute. Unfortunately, my experience with the restaurant staff was completely different from my experience with reception. The service felt unfriendly and indifferent throughout my stay. On my first day, my meal arrived about 15 minutes after my friend’s. When I politely asked about it, I felt as though I was inconveniencing the staff and was simply told, “It’s coming.” As I was pregnant and very hungry, this wasn’t a great experience. When paying, the bill and card reader were essentially dropped on the table without a word before the server walked away. A similar situation happened when I checked out two days later. While waiting for my taxi, I wanted to have a Coke and a bottle of water outside. I was told I couldn’t sit there unless I ordered food, despite being a hotel guest. Inside the hotel, another staff member said it should be possible. The restaurant staff then discussed it among themselves while I stood waiting until they eventually allowed me to sit down and have my drink. For a hotel charging around €500 per night for a standard room without breakfast, I would expect a much higher level of service. There were also a few operational issues. Reception was not always staffed, and I had to wait several times before someone became available. My biggest concern, however, was the room design. The smaller rooms do not have traditional windows, something that is not clearly communicated on the website. We switched rooms, but even in the new room there were only two small roof windows that could not be opened. As a result, the rooms rely entirely on air conditioning with no access to fresh air. Personally, I found this quite uncomfortable and at times felt a bit suffocated. Overall, Villa Dagmar is a nice hotel with a great location and a very friendly reception team. However, considering the price point, the inconsistent service and room design issues mean that I would not choose to stay here again
