KharkivPride

KharkivPride is the Pride festival and equality march of Ukraine's second-largest city, organised by the Women's Association Sphere. Kharkiv held its first-ever Pride on 15 September 2019, drawing up to 3,000 participants to the city centre. It has since become Ukraine's only front-line Pride, held roughly 30 kilometres from the Russian border. Instead of cancelling under wartime conditions, organisers have staged Pride every year in reformatted, safety-conscious ways — an underground rainbow action across the Kharkiv metro in 2022 and 2023, a brief guarded on-foot march plus a car motor-rally in 2024, and a PrideFest with a motor-rally march in 2025. The festival takes place in September and pairs cultural programming and community events with a public act of LGBTQ+ visibility.
