Royal Hotel Cardiff by Belvilla

Overall a good experience but rooms and decor are in serious need of renovation and improvement. Extremely tired feeling throughout. Also i must highlight there was an Indian lady at reception who tried to charge us cash in cand underhandedly for leaving our backpacks after checkout. She should not be in the job and this ammount to effectively theft as although i withdrew cash when we returned another man gave our backpacks to us and didn't ask for any money. No hotel will ever charge you for keeping your luggage there. She needs to be fired.

The location is perfect! Next to Cardiff central station, next to the interchange bus station, close to Sophia garden coach station (National Express). Since it’s very central, you have many restaurants and activities near the hotel. The staff is very friendly and polite. Our room was clean, we had a kettle with many tea bags, a hairdryer and towels. Our bed was comfortable. We didn’t ask for breakfast, because we knew we could get it for £14/person/day. The hotel seems old, but it’s functional and clean. The only thing is: if you’re a disabled person, be aware you’ll need to take five steps to find a lift going to the second floor, where you’ll find the reception.

Breakfast is great value, rooms comfy, bathrooms are spacious. No complaints!

Lovely hotel, great staff, the room was so quiet it was lovely. Breakfast was very nice. Absolutely perfect location. Would definitely stay here again in the future 😊

Ideally situated hotel right in the centre of the town. Room was clean and quiet. Reception were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was very good, plenty to choose from. Plenty of bars and eating places. A small walk to the Principality Stadium.

The service was okay the room were cold even when we asked for heating up
