Pretty good rooms and location next to kelvin river

Room was far too hot and didn’t have air con so asked for a fan which never came. The sink in bathroom was broken just the whole experience very much felt they took a that will do attitude. Breakfast was ok perhaps slightly less than premier inn breakfast standard. I wouldn’t stay here again

Booked a deluxe Room and was given Room 244 on a Saturday night. What relevance you ask…? This room is right on the end l, with a window over looking Byres Road. Again whats the problem…? The problem being, on a Saturday night directly opposite is Oran Mor, a club thats open until the very early hours. (A great club may I add). But as a resident in the hotel who wants to sleep, listening to the queue outside the club until 2am wasn’t ideal. I had no windows open but yet it felt asif I was in the queue myself. I asked to be moved but there were no other available rooms. I paid for a deluxe room to treat myself, but i ended up shooting myself in the foot with that one. Maybe as I was on an events rate, is why I was purposely wedged on the end and given that room. A comment Hilton didn’t deny in correspondence. Furthermore, the expensive looking blackout curtains on the Byres Road side are pointless as they don’t go across the whole way. (See pic). Room was very tired looking and the mattress was very uncomfortable. But tbh I only slept on it for around 4 hours in the end! Ensuite desperately needs an upgrade, being an end room, took at least 5/10 mins for hot water to hit the pipes in there. No rain shower, just a tired bath with a basic shower head over hanging it. Upon check out I was asked how my stay was, reiterated the problems and was given no apology, just a “thats everything” phrase. Clearly not used to anything other than “it was fine” comment. With having the moon shining in my room and the noise from Classy West-Enders partying outside the window, was a terrible stay. Customer satisfaction isnt high importance to the reservations manager, who deemed a sleepless night non worthy of any type refund when given the details. Would have been better off pulling an all nighter, spending £180 on a night in Oran Mor and a taxi home!

We stayed at the Grosvenor (“Grovener”) hotel Glasgow. While the location was good, the stay was not great. I had a broken foot and needed an accessible room to safely shower. They did not prepare one for us so we had to wait around 30 minutes to check in after 17 hours of travel. After that they indeed tried to put us in an “accessible” room which was the opposite side of the hotel from the elevator. Once inside we heard a horrendous banging/grinding mechanical sound approximately every 60 seconds. This was the service elevator used all day by housekeeping. As we were here for work we had anticipated spending time in the room so we requested a non-accessible room without the sound. I am able to put some weight on my foot so just got in the tub side saddle to shower, which is not safe but oh well. Things were ok until our third day when a truly grotesque stink began emanating from somewhere in the room. It smelled like something had died and began to mildew and decompose at the same time. It was bad enough that I started getting sinus pressure and as I am writing this in the airport my coat still smells of it. I asked the front desk for help and they said they would “send housekeeping” to have a look. We left for sightseeing. The bed was made and the smell remained. The next day I said it had gotten worse and can somebody please take a look? My sinuses were painful and my clothes stank. They sent housekeeping and this time put an ionizing machine in which helped but did not stop the stench. It did make it clear that it was coming from the bathroom so I took the sink drain apart and found a dirty spoon lodged inside. I extracted it with another spoon and a plastic knife and called the front desk advising them that I had found a spoon in the drain and could they please send maintenance? They apologized and nobody came. I ran hot water and soap until the flow improved and bought a £5 bottle of Febreze to de-stink our clothes and as much as we could. This reduced the smell to only the intensity of a garbage dump in New Delhi. I suspect the spoon was actually there in an attempt to fish out whatever deceased thing was in the pipes. We again requested assistance or a different room but as we were due to check out we just had to sleep with the windows open and accept our fate. Considering we paid over $1800 for the pleasure of the worst thing I have ever smelled the stay left something to be desired. If I could give the hotel negative stars I would.

This was the noisiest room I have ever stayed in! The rooms are poorly insulated and the doors slam horribly so you hear every hotel guest up and about coming and going at all hours. Street noise comes on top of this. Not the place to stay if you are sensitive to noise and want to sleep.

Great hotel in an excellent and convenient location. The rooms are a little dated but that was fine for us. The staff and service here were amazing and a stand-out! Hayley Baxter in particular went above and beyond to provide us with some additional things we asked for.

The Grosvenor is no longer the luxury hotel of its heyday. However, it is functional. The room was clean but could benefit from an upgrade. The staff were friendly and helpful. Particularly Thomas the bartender in BeGin. The location is excellent for travel anywhere in Glasgow and beyond.

Rooms are fine but if you like to start the day with a good breakfast, forget about it! Terrible selection no healthy food, no veggies. The only vegetable on offer is a grilled tomato of very questionable quality. Disappointing for anyone trying to eat even remotely healthy

Stayed overnight for wedding, nice room , breakfast good choice .

Clean rooms, great service. Water temp and pressure excellent.

Spent 2 nights here. Welcoming staff, rooms spotless.
