Would give 0 stars if I could. Do not stay here if you expect a 4-star hotel experience. We stayed for 3 nights at a cost of nearly £600 and travelled with our 8-month-old baby. Before arrival, the hotel confirmed that a cot would be provided. Upon check-in, there was no cot in the room because housekeeping had left for the day. After unpacking, we discovered the TV did not work. We reported this, left the hotel for a few hours, and returned to find that the TV still wasn’t working and the cot still hadn’t arrived. We were then told to move rooms. After carrying my baby to the new room, I found hair in the shower and unacceptable cleanliness standards, so I had to request another room change. By this point it was around 7:30pm, our baby still had no cot and needed to go to bed. We were moved again. The third room had a working TV but still had a broken cupboard, damaged curtains, stained carpets and a dated bathroom with visible wear, limescale and staining. I then had to move all of our belongings between rooms myself while caring for my baby, with no offer of assistance from staff. The cot did not arrive until after 8pm. The following day, the hotel manager, James, acknowledged the issues and assured me that a refund for the first night would be issued. However, after checkout I had to repeatedly chase the hotel for the promised refund. I was ignored, had calls unreturned, and have since been told that no refund was ever agreed despite having had multiple conversations about it. The hotel even confirmed in writing at one stage that a refund request had been submitted to their Finance Department before later changing their position. The condition of the rooms was poor, but the way the complaint has been handled afterwards has been even worse. The hotel failed to provide basic standards of cleanliness, failed to provide the requested cot, moved us between multiple rooms, showed little consideration for a family travelling with a young baby, and then failed to honour the resolution offered by management. Avoid if you value customer service, accountability, or a hotel that matches its 4-star rating.

It’s a bit of a glamorous dame that’s just lost a little of her polish, shine and beauty. It’s a great location for getting into the West End. Parking is on the top floor of the Waitrose next door (found via a lane behind the hotel). Reception is swift and friendly and the staff generally were great. We had a nice room at the front of the hotel. It’s a city centre hotel and the Great Western Road is a main thoroughfare. So be prepared for road/traffic noise. Not bad - but it’s there. Comfy rooms with very firm pillows! Fan provided which was a good touch….and something of a shock for Glasgow!! Excellent breakfast. All in all - it’s good. But not great.

AWFUL. This hotel does not deserve 4*. It is aged and not taken care of, no hot water in the morning so unable to take shower, unimpressive breakfast which feaured fermented fruit salad, hot chocolate turned out to be watered down hot milk (selected because of the poor coffee), no basic conveniences such as cotton pads in the bathroom. Strictly limited coffee capsules per quest (still low quality coffee). Noise from surrounding bars is quite bad but dies down in the evening but hotel really could provide earplugs as a courtesy. Avoid.
