Guildford Manor Hotel & Spa

So quiet and peaceful here. My wife and I have had a lovely and relaxing 2 night stay for a romantic break. Was a last minute break as we were meant to be going abroad but out flights got cancelled. We very much enjoyed ourselves. Bed comfy rooms clean carpet could do with a clean but overall a lovely room. Food here in the restaurant is beautiful couldnt fault the food or service, definitely try the cocktails! Mo the waiter was so attentive and polite, his service is second to none. Would definitely stay here again.

What a gem! We were pleasantly surprised by the facilities and the overall experience and value of our stay. Thank you to all at Guildford Manor!

We had booked a nights stay for our anniversary, when we arrived the young lad checked us in but couldn’t find the room key, this then escalated to a “manager” stepping in, there was no communication at all about what was going on, just wait 5 minutes, when I asked if there was a complication with the room, the female (assuming manager) snapped at me rudely just give us 5 minutes we are sorting it!! Not a pleasant start at all! We was stood around for about 15 minutes whilst she has the poor lad run back and forth to bedroom to see if they were empty, they eventually gave us a key and was told “it’s better then the room you was meant to be” I very highly doubt this, the room is extremely dated and doesn’t compare to the rooms advertised on the website, we went down and mentioned this to the manager who was extremely standoffish rolling her eyes at us, telling us that we haven’t booked the the Clarence, and what he have paid we should be happy with! We stated that the photos on the website do not represent the room; no bath, sofa, table etc, to which we was told executive suites don’t have these, but they are very clearly shown in the website and I showed her this to her snappy response is that’s not executive, even with the words written right under the pictures, we eventually gave up as wasn’t going to get anywhere and didn’t want it to ruin our night. Roll onto the morning, on the website it states breakfast 7am-10am DAILY- we go down at 9am to be told breakfast has finished, when talking to reception, apparently it is only weekends breakfast is served until 10am! The older lady who was on the night shift, needs to seriously learn some customer service, DO NOT PASS IT OFF AS PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES! Rudeness is not appropriate when you have made multiple mistakes.

Subpar

We got married here in July it was a perfect day, my only complaint was we had to move rooms 3 times, also after are wedding we had the honeymoon suite but next day had to move out by 12 so didn't really get to enjoy the room, my thoughts are it is unacceptable moving us 3 times as it was our wedding, we didn't even get chance to unpack our belongings

Such a beautiful place,the outdoor hot tub was an absolute highlight,the service was fab and the food was delicious. The seabass and the pork belly mains were incredible. Friendly,funny and chatty barman and waiter. We didn't mind at all,but heard someone complaining as we left- it is a wedding venue,says so on the website,so the music can be heard but turned off promptly at 12. No issues for us at all tho, great walks nearby and The Compasses Inn is a really pretty pub with a river running through it. Great night away,thanks to the staff for going the extra mile!

This was a steal deal for me! Amazing location with cafes and walks nearby. Rooms were just okay but the spa services and facilities were beyond amazing 🤩 I will definitely visit again for a spa break!
