The Connaught

I took my best friend (who had endured a dreadful personal two years) for her birthday for afternoon tea We were do well looked after, service was attentive and professional. Location is lovely. The food ….was superb. Delicious sandwiches…. the mini cakes were utterly scrumptious ànd as someone who doesn’t like tea I was offered the hot chocolate which was the best I’ve ever tasted… anywhere. My friend was given a mini dessert on a plate which they had written happy birthday on…. nice touch my friend was also blown away by the experience. My only only down point….i finished the meal with a macchiato coffee… which was not pleasant at all. Either poorly made or not good quality coffee. This will not at all stop me coming again.. or recommending the Connaught to anyone for this afternoon tea experience 10/10….. THANK YOU

The best hotel in London, hands down! Excellent customer service from arrival to every interaction in the hotel. Rooms are charming, large, comfy, and clean! I felt like a home away from home.

It is genuinely difficult to write this review without tears in my eyes, because that is how amazing this place really is. Perhaps it is not entirely rational to become emotional about a hotel, but I first stayed at this spectacular property when I was 12 years old. Today, at 51, I can honestly say that it has only improved with time. First and foremost, the people who work at this hotel are saints from heaven. They are, bar none, the most lovely, caring, considerate, beautiful people in the hospitality business. Every single request we made was taken seriously, and there was not one thing we asked for that was not immediately tended to with a smile. The level of service is simply extraordinary. Perhaps the most amazing part of the entire visit was the way it seemed as though the whole hotel knew me by name. Everywhere I went, it was, “Good afternoon, Mr. X.” They did not simply make me feel like a valued guest. They made me feel like family. We arrived two hours late because of a flight delay, well beyond what would generally be considered an appropriate time for afternoon tea. They let us have it anyway. That small gesture perfectly captures the spirit of this hotel: rather than telling you why something cannot be done, they seem determined to find a way to make your stay special. The same extraordinary treatment continued throughout our visit. We went to the Red Room late in the evening and immediately noticed that, as in-house guests, we were treated like absolute royalty. They catered to us and pampered us as though we were kings. Late-night room service was equally epic. Not only was the food delicious, but it arrived quickly and was delivered with a tremendous smile. Again, it was not simply about getting the mechanics of hospitality right. Every interaction somehow felt genuinely warm and personal. And then there is the property itself, which has been flawlessly maintained. Our bed was like a giant pillow for the gods. Use caution if you actually intend to see the sights of London, because you may not want to get out of it! The shower was spectacular as well, with wonderful water pressure. Everywhere you look, the hotel feels cared for and impeccably maintained. I simply cannot say enough good things about this amazing property. I am completely and totally starstruck by the experience. Was it expensive? Yes. But compared with similarly priced hotels, it was beyond worth it. What distinguishes this place is that they somehow manage to make you feel not only like a movie star, but also like a member of their family. That is an extraordinarily difficult combination to achieve, and they do it seemingly effortlessly. I am just head over heels in love with this place, and I honestly cannot begin to convey how good it is. After having first experienced it as a 12-year-old boy and returning now as a 51 year old man, I find it remarkable that something I remembered so fondly has actually become even better over time. Just stay there. You have to!

Unfortunately, this didn’t live up to expectations. We visited after hearing it described as one of the best cocktail bars and were really looking forward to the experience. We were asked to stand at the bar, which was fine, although there were tables available. However, we then waited around 10 minutes just to be served, followed by another 10 minutes for just one of our drinks to arrive. We were still left waiting for the second drink. For somewhere with such a great reputation, we expected much better service and overall experience. Sadly, it wasn’t for us and we left feeling disappointed.

We had the most fantastic stay at the Connaught! The whole property is lovely, perfect location and we love the red bar. Beyond that, the team here is just incredible. Every single person we interacted with went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Laura at the front desk was fantastic. Can’t wait to come back!

We had a horrible experience and harrasement against women in this hotel. We were taking some pictures in the corridor and the security came shouting at us after a few minutes that photo is not allowed. There was no sign of it and we didn’t have any other guests in the background and it was in a public area. If he asked politely, of course, we would have stopped. He kept shouting at us and asked 2x if im allowed to talk. It felt extremely unprofessional, intimidating and threatening to be treated like this as a woman in a quiet area of a hotel without other guests by a male security. His behavior felt out of proportion and we felt that he just wanted to intimidate us as 2 women in a quiet area. Im happy to provide the name and details privately if a hotel manager contacts me.

My son kindly bought me a voucher for Afternoon Tea at Christmas and we used it last week. I love to go around the different 5* hotels trying out the Afternoon Tea and this one didn't disappoint. We were warmly greeted straight upon arrival, given a choice of table to sit at which means alot to me as i suffer with anxiety. We were explained about the different options we could choose and the food was really nice, great variety and all delicious. The service was excellent. The only little thing i could say is that there was no tablecloth and all the 5* hotels we have been too there are tablecloths on the tables which i always think look nicer and the room wasn't decorated as nicely as some other hotels we have been too. Saying that it was excellent value for money and would love to return.

Still our favourite place to stay while in London, although crazy expensive, the sleep quality is perfect, the staff even more so and breakfast!! Beyond amazing is all I can say. Although on this visit we were in a van and I think Gary was assuming we went to clean the windows 🤣. Perfect in every way may I add

My husband and I stayed at the Connaught in late June at the very end of our trip to London and it was simply amazing. We booked with Amex and were pleasantly surprised to get a suite upgrade, which was beautiful and spacious. The staff were incredibly welcoming, and, although it is a bit of a splurge in an upscale neighborhood, the place is not stuffy nor does anyone make you feel like you don’t belong. They always remembered our names, requests were fulfilled quickly, and the massage at the Aman Spa worked out all of the traveling stress that I had accumulated! The bar cocktails were top notch, the breakfast was delicious and our dinner at JG was truly an event from start to finish. Our absolute favorite splurge hotel of our entire trip, highly recommended!

Return visit to the bar after a previously disappointing experience. Nothing less than superb. The Red Room is a lovely, chic bar - the best for a date night, or even a solo drink. Hotel is in the heart of Mayfair and will absolutely return soon, and great to have been able to see a true reflection of this excellent hotel. Managers Oscar Angeloni and Ariana Perez know how to provide excellent service and small touches, as well as their colleagues. Will be back to eat soon
