Brisbane's cruising scene operates through a small indoor sauna circuit and several outdoor parks and reserves across the inner city and middle suburbs. The warm climate means outdoor options are accessible for a longer portion of the year than in colder Australian cities.
Indoor options: the saunas
The gay saunas in Brisbane provide the most consistent indoor option. They are not numerous but they operate reliably. See the Brisbane gay saunas guide for the current venues.
Outdoor locations
New Farm Park, the large riverside park in the inner suburb of New Farm east of the Valley, has an established reputation. The park runs along the Brisbane River and has wooded areas away from the main paths. Activity is evening and nighttime; during the day it is a popular family park and dog-walking area. New Farm has a strongly gay-friendly residential character, which gives the park context.
Roma Street Parklands in the city centre and various reserves along the river also carry reputations in this context. Brisbane's warm climate and outdoor culture mean these spaces are more consistently usable year-round than equivalent parks in Melbourne or Sydney.
Standard outdoor precautions apply. These are public spaces with general use during daylight hours. Evening activity is conducted with appropriate discretion.

Practical notes
Brisbane's year-round warmth makes outdoor options viable even in the middle of what passes for winter here. New Farm Park is easily accessible by bus from the Valley or CBD. Saunas are the predictable indoor alternative if a managed environment is preferred.
