Hotel Clasico - Charlie The hotel is boutique style and is decorated in a vintage way. It is in a very central location in Palermo, surrounded by restaurants of all kinds, bars, coffee shops, and public transportation. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and attentive, especially Charlie, who welcomed us very warmly and made our check-in process very easy and fast. Thanks, a thousand thanks Charlie

An excellent location to explore everything in Palermo and close to the city center. Very safe area at night to return from restaurants without problems. The staff has a super service attitude towards guests. Varied breakfast with excellent coffee.

The experience at this “classic” Buenos Aires hotel was far from expected for a supposed 4-star rating. While at first glance the place is attractive for its decoration, multiple problems quickly appear that affect the stay. The room was in bad condition: the air conditioning was not working properly and we went cold. As an impromptu solution, we were given batteries, which is totally inadequate for the level that the hotel intends to offer. In addition, the room has no bidet, you hear absolutely everything from other rooms or corridors, and the balcony door opened itself, which generates discomfort and even some insecurity. Breakfast also had negative aspects. We were not informed that we could order espresso coffee or cappuccino, so we used the coffee maker available in the lounge. During that time, staff were talking to each other without paying attention. Only the second day, when we specifically ordered cappuccino and espresso coffee, the service was very friendly and correct. A particularly annoying spot occurred at check-out. While we waited for the taxi, the receptionist on duty (morning of 3/5) had rock music loud, pounded the table and sang low, generating an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere for a hotel that pretends to be of a certain category. On the positive side, overall the staff was friendly and the location is good. However, the value for money is clearly negative.

I wanted to like this hotel, but there were a number of issues, the main one being that the AC unit in our room was broken. It somewhat kept the room cool (thank goodness, because Buenos Aires was experiencing a major heat wave when we were there), but the unit continuously leaked water all over the floor. Because of the height the water was dropping from, it would splash all over the cords and the power outlet beside the bed, which had me a little concerned about electrical hazards. We had to keep a towel in the corner of the room below the unit, which we noticed housekeeping changed out each day. Every night, you could hear the water alternating between a slow drip and a more continuous stream. You could tell that the unit had been leaking for quite some time, because the drywall just under the unit looked to be soggy and like it had been repaired and repainted before. I also wouldn’t choose to stay on this side of Palermo again if I were to come back. The area definitely felt safe, but it also felt more residential and more removed from everything. This might be a good thing if you prioritize quiet over everything else! Most of the restaurants and nightlife are in Palermo Soho, which is about a 10-15 minute walk away, though parts of the walk felt a little deserted and dark at night. Another con about this hotel is that the breakfast spread was a little odd. The buffet was fairly large, but it seemed to be very heavy on pastries at the expense of everything else. Aside from the above issues, the hotel does feel cool and stylish. I loved the mix of modern and Art Deco design! The elevator is super fun, and the breakfast room is gorgeous. We stayed in a Double Room, and our room was a good size. It was bright and open, though the bathroom was painted in dark grey and as a result, very dark. It was nice to have a little balcony, even though it was really only big enough to stick our heads out of, and I always appreciate a room that provides a mini fridge.

The hotel is good and the staff are very friendly and helpful; however, I do not believe it meets the expectations of a 4-star hotel as per classified. Pros The location is very quiet, with no noise at night, and the rooms are comfortable and The hotel is well located, within walking distance of several restaurants in soho Cons However, the breakfast was disappointing. There was very little variety and almost the same items every day, mainly sweet and savoury croissants. I missed having a wider selection of fruit, usually there were only tomatoes or kiwi available. In addition, although there is a kettle and cups in the room, no complimentary tea, coffee or even bottled water is provided. The curtains don’t close so the all light comes through the room. There are also no streaming services such as Netflix available in the rooms. For the price charged, and the location plus the hotel rating star, these basic amenities should be included.
