Really great hostel with lots of tours at good prices and great opportunities to meet other travellers. Would recommend staying here
A perfect place for backpackers! The hostel has many services and offers many activities! Highly recommended.
An excellent hostel, very clean, quaint, and comfortable. Many people stay here, so if you're traveling alone, you can make a couple of new friends. The view from the restaurant is incredible, especially at night, when you can appreciate the historic center of Quito completely illuminated.
I genuinely don't understand the hype around Secret Garden Quito. The hostel is small and, in my opinion, overpriced for what it offers. The tours and activities they sell are significantly more expensive than booking independently, so I wouldn't recommend using them. The biggest issue during my stay was that there was no hot water in the shower. We reported it, and staff repeatedly told us it would be fixed, but nothing was actually done. In the end, we were left without a solution except being told to go use the showers in their other building, which was extremely inconvenient and not what you expect when paying for accommodation. I was also disappointed with how the situation was handled. Instead of resolving the problem or offering a reasonable alternative, we were essentially left to deal with it ourselves. The only real positive was the discount at their restaurant that was okayish food for a good price.. Based on my experience, this was far below the standard I expect from a highly rated hostel, and I would not stay here again. For me, this was definitely a less-than-one-star experience.
