What reviewers say

Visitors praise the venue for its nice rooms, central and comfortable location, and elegant, clean atmosphere. However, a common complaint is a difficult check-in process due to it being a residential condo without a front desk, leading to significant delays.

על המקום הזה Edificio California

Edificio California is listed as accommodation in a building on Jirón Moquegua in Cercado de Lima, the historic centre near the Plaza Mayor area. It is listed as gay-friendly, but the data does not say clearly whether this is a hotel, hostel or rental apartments, and there is no website. Google reviews average 4.4 from about 100 ratings. The historic centre is good for sightseeing by day, but most visitors base themselves in Miraflores or Barranco, where Lima's gay bars are. Call ahead to confirm what is being rented and at what price.

The room was nice with full amenities and a good location. However, check-in was a nightmare — this is a residential condo with no front desk, and the security guard didn’t know my booking. It took almost 40 minutes and several calls before I got a room. If booking through Expedia, be careful — the owner doesn’t communicate directly, and staff don’t speak English.
