Went for happy hour at 10 PM only 2 / 4 of us got water for the first 20 minutes, no ice in the water. drinks were good, but we were very hungry at that point so who knows. Tried my best to give my order over the loud blaring distorting music. A usual 20 minutes before we see our server again. Couldn’t have ordered more tacos if I wanted because it would’ve just been a waste of time. I guess I’ll just have to order our whole tables worth of tacos in one order next time.
Amanda B was our large group’s server tonight, and she was GREAT. She was so attentive and patient with all of our group’s special requests. She helped make our special night even more special! Cocktails were also delicious!
Food was good but service was horrible. We asked for the nacho chips that accompany the table guacamole the times before it arrived. Server couldn’t be found for long stretches of time and the churros took 25 minutes to arrive at our table. Oh, and the bill was wrong, containing items that were never delivered. Very disappointing and very loud.
I was super excited to try Anejo for the first time! We ordered the tableside guac to start. While the guac was absolutely delish, the chips were such a huge disappointment. I expected house made chips served warm. That was not the case. They are, unfortunately, not made fresh in house, and definitely nothing special. We ordered the beef birria, shrimp camerone, and pork belly tacos. All were excellent, but yet again, served on tortillas that were not made fresh. Another disappointment, and very surprising for a Mexican restaurant. The shrimp tacos were probably our favorite! They were so yummy! The food could absolutely be elevated to a 5 star rating if chips and tortillas were made fresh in house! It definitely was not an authentic Mexican food experience, but it was good. The margaritas were decent, and that white hot mayo was delish. I would have bought a bottle of that to take home! Unfortunately, I doubt we would return. There are just too many better Mexican food options in Edmonton, but the rooftop patio was so nice. 😊
