Hôtel Champlain Vieux Québec

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Champlain April 28-May 2 2026, the room was nice, the staff was amazing, and the beer and wine selection were great for our much needed vacation! We would stay again no question!

The hotel is very well located, with welcoming staff. The rooms could use some updating.

Nice older hotel, we were booked next door at the Atypiq, but could not stay there, "David" the manager on staff was great and appreciate him in transferring our booking over to his Hotel. We got excellent service from the staff, especially "Elina", there helpful and helping us get around. The was dated, but very spacious, bed was very comfortable, bath was good, soap and shampoo's were good, lots of towels, overall the room was excellent. Location was the best, 5 minute walk to everywhere, good choice of restaurants close, lots of shopping nearby, beautiful and very walkable city. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel for a short stay. Spacious room and excellent location.

I am really dissatisfied with my stay at this hotel. Let me start with the positives: the front desk staff were very friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, there were serious issues that made the experience frustrating. Before checking in, I clearly requested a quiet room, and the hotel confirmed my request. However, I was still given a room facing the street, which was noisy. It completely ignored my needs and made it difficult to rest. In addition, the WiFi was very unstable. Another issue is the weak flushing power of the toilet. It was so poor that even toilet paper wouldn’t go down, which was both inconvenient and unhygienic. Also, the bathroom sink counter was very small, making it extremely easy for water to splash or spill out . Another major issue is the housekeeping service. The hotel stated that if I submit a request, they would come to the room for basic cleaning, such as taking out the trash and replacing towels. However, even after I submitted the request, none of this was done. I don’t understand why there is even a system for submitting requests if they are simply ignored. Overall, it feels like all guest requests are completely overlooked, which made the experience very disappointing.

Right from the moment we arrived, what really stood out was the warm reception—the staff were very polite and extremely helpful. The room was very clean and smelled great, and both the bathroom and toilet were spotless. The hotel was just a 5–6 minute walk from Old Quebec, which made the location perfect. Overall, it was an amazing experience—the best trip we’ve had to Quebec City so far
