Asociación Hombres y Mujeres Nuevos de Panamá

Founded in 1996 and legally recognised in 2005 after a three-year fight with the authorities, the Asociación Hombres y Mujeres Nuevos de Panamá (AHMNP) is the country's first and longest-running LGBTQ+ organisation. Based in the Panama City metro area, it works on HIV prevention and sexual-health services, human-rights education and community advocacy. AHMNP organised Panama's first Pride march in 2004 and remains one of the most established points of contact for LGBTQ+ visitors and locals seeking community support.
