Best Western Plus University Park Inn & Suites

All excellent, except for the TV/Remote. We tried for at least 30 minutes to get share our phone screens, but the internet would not allow it. Called the desk, and they brought us a green remote that should have done the job, but after 30 minutes of trying that, we gave up. The TV itself did not have many channels to choose from, and the installed YouTube didn't work. I think it was all network internet issues. Other than that, it is a very nice place. Good breakfast, very clean and nice large rooms.

Friendly and welcoming staff. The farmhouse chic really works for this hotel! My room was clean and the bed was comfy. Pretty good hot tub. breakfast was good, even if it was the same options both mornings. I was in Ames for the Iowa FFA Convention, and it was a short drive to the Iowas State Campus. My only complaint is that a towel I brought with me went missing and even though I let the front desk know, it never turned up and the staff didn't give me any updates. I hung it up to dry on Monday morning after a shower, and it was gone when i returned that afternoon. My towel was burgundy, so there's no way it would have blended in with the white hotel towels.

Very nice hotel, loved the outdoor seating. It was also convenient that there was a gas station and restaurant right next to the hotel. The breakfast was very nice, loved the strawberry water. Only complaint was the bed was not comfortable. Staff was very nice, overall great stay.

I've been staying at this hotel for several years now, and each visit has always been wonderful. The rooms are consistently clean and tidy, and the beds are so comfortable and cozy. The main unit does a great job of keeping the room cool, just the way we like it. The breakfast is always plentiful and delicious! There's also an awesome swimming pool and a nice exercise area to enjoy. In our room, we noticed some cracks and small on the wall in the bathroom, but it didn't affect our stay at all. The showers can be a bit tricky—adjusting the temperature sometimes causes a sudden jump in hot or cold water. The coffee machine during breakfast isn't the best, but overall, it’s been a fantastic experience. I’m definitely planning to come back next year. Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable!

It was 11:35am January 24 2026, One of us had already started taking our bags out to the car while the other was finishing up a shower. Few minutes later we where finishing up a upload to social media before we hit the road and we heard one the maids say "are they done yet" and other maid replied "no they are not, they are just taking their sweet time", check out states we have until 12pm to check out and we didnt get back to the hotel until 5am. So yes we took our sweet time to get some sleep and get ready for our 12 hour trip ahead of us. I didnt appreciate the fact that it felt like we had been rushed out of our stay that we paid for. 2 minutes before we left I looked out the door peep hole to see one of the maids was sitting next to her cleaning cart in front of our door as if she couldn't go home until she finished cleaning our room. It wouldnt of been such a big problem but the way the maids made sure they said what they said loud enough to make sure we heard what they said. Very disrespectful. We stayed in this same hotel a year ago and came back this year because of the great care they shown last time. But after this issue I dont know if we will ever come to this specific hotel again.
